He probaby thought, the Acadian, being sold only at Pontiac dealers, was legit

We now know that the Acadian and following models were a separate marque in the 60-70's,

and through 40 years of morphing have become (by legal standards only ) Pontiacs

 Yes it is a canadian vin number. The canadian vin numbers start with the model year and have 12 didgets the us cars start with the chevy division number 1 and have a total of 13 didgets.

6 model year 66

1 chevy division

5511 belair 6 cylinder two door sedan

0  oshawa built

72266 sequence number

Picked up another 67 biscayne, this is a parts car. 327 3spd, 12 bolt, large front sway bar etc. Original 327 bottom end came with it, very decent floors and trunk floor. Thanks to Carl S for helping me pic it up.
