That would be fine! I'd love to see someone on here, or someone I know well end up with the car.

It's actually time you had a car like that. You'd never go back to those "little" X and A bodies!

It will be real interesting to see what it goes for for my personal info.  I mean lets face it other than the 396 with four speed and the fact the the body/interior looks good it ain't all that special.  It doesn't appear to have any other real cool options and it ain't all that original with the Grande Prix emblem in the grille, aftermarket steering wheel and the non original engine stuff.

If it goes for big money then I guess an actual correct well optioned car would be worth even more.(he said greedily)

Also remember this is Alberta where there tends to be more money than sense.

A lot of really good points in this comment Ken. Can I retract my guess and
make it a little lower, lol. It appears to me, after having wanted to find
a nice driver, that prices are definitely coming down hard. With the exception
of the guys who think their parts cars are worth big $$$, or well overpriced
restoration products, the market is shot. Those guys will either have to drop
the dollars on their crap or hold it for another upswing, which may never happen.
There are plenty of cars under the $15g mark that would have claimed
another 25% or more a couple of years ago......time to buy!!

Last summer when he listed it as open to offers.... I phoned him and offered $10,000 cash and he turned me down.  Not that I was trying to insult him, that's all I had to offer...and it was open to offers. I'm pretty sure it will have a reserve on it. There are a lot of things about this car that make it NOT FACTORY CORRECT as a restoration, and we have spoke about all of them in another thread so I don't feal the need to repeat myself. It is still a nice car, that looks good and for someone wanting it for what it is...I think they will get a nice car. For me I wouldn't pay more than the $10,000 I offered him because, it would take another $10,000 to put the car back to Factory correct..the way I would want a 396 car. As Ken mentioned there is really nothing special about this car as far as options other than the 396. I just can't see it being worth over $16,000 fully restored. So that being said ,the numbers for me, don't add up. I hope it finds a good home !!!!

I think the big thing that makes this stand out apart, aside from the 396, is the fact it is a factory 4 speed.

Throw a very nice colour combination into the mix, and as Carl Stevenson says, how much is it going to cost you to build one.

Just thought I would copy my post from earlier this week on another thread:

The last appraisal I saw on a 1970 Pontiac 454 was done in September 2009. It was a top condition restored Laurentian and It was set at $12,000 appraised for insurance value in Toronto.
At Auction near Parry Sound ON in the fall of 2010 an original condition 427 Survivor Grand Parisienne 2 dr. Hardtop sold for just under $4,000.
There was also a survivor 427 69 2+2 that sold out of Cahtsworth ON in the fall 2010 for $4,000. Engine was not in the car but was provided with sale.
All cars above were auto trans cars.
