I love good news.

Flood forecast downgraded and now they agree with what I have been expecting for the last week or so!

Only a few more inches to go!

Just turned on the camera. It usually goes about 10 minutes then kicks out for some reason.

Mind you I do see a couple "small animal" traps in front of the go-cart. Skunks? Racoons?

No skunks, no coons this go round.

Coons in 09 and a skunk took refuge under my SD455 Firebird in 06 though!!!

We finally convinced him to go swimming beside the road. It was the strangest thing though, confuse shortly after he started to swim I heard KABLAM! It must have scared him because he was scared stiff, never swam a stroke after that.....

biggrin Sounds like Survivor Manitoba! BBQ'd mouse?

We had a brazen, big raccoon shimmying up one of our porch pillars last night. These round, painted pillars are pretty smooth. Amazing climbing ... until I opened the front door. The big guy ran fast enough!

I only have 7 mice kills this year.cry

How deep would you say the water is now Carl?

I'm guessing they have 6 to 7 feet of water on flat ground right now by the looks of Carl's yard. In 2009 when I visited Carl during the the flood, we couldn't quite walk on the driveway without our rubber boots filling with water and there was over 8 feet of water in the fields. Sure looks like it is very near 2009 levels.

I would say we are close to 6 feet in the flat part of the yard. We are still likely close to 2 feet under 2009. It's deceiving once the road goes under, it all looks the same then! However, the road can be barely covered and it gives the illusion of being very deep at that point.

Sorry I'm not on here much to update lately, it's been a bit busy. Wild at work and then spend a lot of time each evening chasing and murdering meece's!!!

Well Carl, I hope we don't get too much rain and snow they are forecasting all weekend, it won't help your situation

It sure looks like it will be an ugly 2 days. I will be island bound it looks like. No desire to go out in that.

Our son is away on a course this weekend, so it's bonding time for dad and daughter. When she went to bed last night she said "Dad, I don't want to sleep in past 11 tomorrow!" Teenagers!!! Hard to bond when they don't get up till noon!

There hasn't been much in the news lately about your river Pascal. Has it dropped down some now?

What's the meese count now?

This morning I saw a weasel run from my car shed to my tool shed. No wonder my meese count is down. Weasels + mice = dead mice!

I think we are on the slide! I only killed 3 last night and so far it's 3 today. Kind of lame

No increase in water, last 36 hours. However, the wind just came up and they say serious snow storm on its way........???!!! Yeah, whatever. Won't that be fun.....

It's currently -6 in Brandon and it's headed this way.

Wish I could have imported a weasel onto the island for the flood! Way better than any mousetrap!

Sorry I missed your call. Went for a stroll down the driveway to see how far we could walk in rubber boots! It was wonderfully calm earlier, before the storm comes. Wind is coming up now.

I'll give you a call very shortly.

This is on the #35 north to Wadena, just 1/2 hour N/west of me. This is Milligan Creek where it crosses the highway, the same creek that went over the #310 highway in Foam Lake.

There are reports of nearly 150 washed out roads in both these areas alone. The land under water is farm land as well.... Floods all across the Prairies!

Not sure how to insert the video but someone else can do it...

At the :26 and :35 second marks, you can see both culvert intakes...

The building at the 1:03 mark was being sandbagged on the 22nd as the water was near it... It is clearly in halfway in the water in this shot!

Amazing sight this morning. It won't mean much to any of you but way earlier than I anticipated, I could walk the entire length of our driveway this morning in shoes. We must have dropped 6" since yesterday at 4 PM when we walked it in boots. However, we have snow, -4 and likely close to 80 km winds!!!

The flood camera 3 miles away portrays it pretty nicely today!

I hope you don't get the storm that Yorkton, 1 hour east of me, got yesterday..... Almost a foot of snow, crazy winds and we got not a flake!

This is about 2 minutes ago. We are supposed to get just a touch more. Won't really be an issue. What a miserable day, amazing!!!
