Water temp ports on a 67 327 question.


I'm adding a 3 gauge cluster to my 67, mechanical water temp, mechanical oil pressure and volts.

Is there another place I can mount the water temp probe other than at he spot beside the thermostat housing?

If I mount it there, I loose the electrical temp idiot light. Not really a big deal, but it would be nice to keep it anyway.

As far as oil pressure, I guess I just build a "T" off the rear of the block. Bring the capillary line off that point. That way I can keep the sender.

Sorry, no other temp sender hole on the 67 Mark. Starting in 68 there is one in each head.

Yes, T the oil line to have both.

The T for the temp would be kind of bulky though.

A Monte Carlo I had one time had the temp probe in the head near the manifold, as for oil pressure I have T'd off the line by the distributor to keep the light as well.  Guess I've been educated, didn't know about the holes being post 1967.....

ive seen the water temps tead into the drain plugs on the side of the block with adapters. as far as oil pressure i build a 45 off the back of the block for gauge and light

Some later thermostat housings had a sensor that screwed into it. Maybe one of these would work if the fitting size is the same or can be adapted.
