OK it needs a total restoration but the parts have to be worth the asking price:

Wonder what makes him think it is a 409 car?

not a 409 "big fuel line"  frame

NOT a 409 tach cluster either.

I'd want to see paperwork on that one

I would definitely see a bona fide paper file and all the data plates. As it may very well be a 283 P/G SS car when new.

Original 409 wheels and hubcaps?Looks like SS caps to me.As far as I know, there is(was) no such thing as 409 designation hubcaps.Either SS or not.
And yes, the no tach would certainally raise my curiosity.I have seen a lot of 409 cars over the years and they all had the neatly placed tach just above the steering colunm.

even with the reliefed block (pump gas) not a problem...did you follow the article in Muscle Car mag......409 on a Dime....truck motors seem more suited for the street  smile

Yes, the truck blocks are fine but they are quite a bit less valuable. Looking at the engine with this 64 it looks like it is probably a 340hp passenger car engine.

The car is cheap enough that it might be a good deal either way but you can't see much of the body. The spare frame makes you wonder if the one under the car is rusted out.

I'm right in the middle of assembling two 476ci 409 stroker motors. Both have truck blocks. The truck blocks are the same as the passenger car blocks except that they have a notch cut out of the top of the cylinder to lower the compression. The rule of thumb is to order pistons with one point higher compression to compensate for the notch in the truck block.
