I use the solid bushing. A friend of mine had one of the bearing ones come apart. The bushings have been used for years with no issues.

Solid for sure! My brothers 3/4 ton Chevy truck wore out the roller in no time and was replaced with a solid one by GM warranty.

Solid ones are more reliable, easier to get out w/ the grease trick too!.

I also agree with solid brass. But don't forget to soak it in oil first or it'll wear out real fast.

I assume the roller would be the way to go but I would be interested in hearing why others choose a bushing. I would expect the roller to stay true and a bushing to wear.....

Peters 396/375 HP in Sackville has a roller in it from 10-15 years ago cars gets driven and shifted at 6500   no problems   several others used roller

I have one in my Chief

Look it up   They don't use brass in Big HP cars built in 2010-2011

We had a discussion on this a few years back....... I will say that I will stick to my guns and say my answer is still the same and when you read the thread, you will find out why.......

Return the roller bearing.

If you decide to use it, when you chew up the input shaft on your tranny I get to say I told you so.

Thanks for the education on this one Pete. I would have been the guy who would have thought a bearing was better than a bushing. Guess we are never to old to learn!

I learned something on this topic. Have the brass one "soaking" in oil as we speak!! [ or type]
