Laurentian or Parisienne

Hello, Yes I know it says camaroman, and yes I have a 1972 SS 396 camaro. Here's the story. My wife was born in 1972 and we have a 1972 Camaro.I was born in 1960 and I want a 1960 Pontiac of some kind. There are two for sale here in Alberta, one is a Laurentian and the other is a Parisienne, both two door cars.Just wondering if any one has any suggestions as to which one they would choose and why? Just started looking today and the guy with them for sale has not got back to me about what each one has as far as options and running gear. Thanks for any input.

To me both are beautiful cars, and so similar that condition/options/price would be the deciding factors. I dont know enough about 60's to say if there is a great benefit between one or the other. I dont know the production numbers, and perhaps one is more rare than the other, if that matters to you. I'm sure someone with firsthand knowledge will chime in. Good Luck....let us know the details when the time comes! We love pics too.

The Parisienne was a higher trim level than the Laurentian. That's about the only difference. Buy the one that's more solid and complete.

I agree if they are both 2 door hardtops!!!  If it was a choice between post and hardtop, I hope the HT is in better shape.  Or buy both and make a supercar.

Is there a 66 Laurentian 2 door hardtop? I've sure never seen one.

I agree with Carl. There was no 2dr hardtop offered in the Laurentian series in 1966, just a 2dr. sedan AKA post car.

Yes a totally restored car would be alright but,I'm looking for a project car. Just want to build something reliable and cheap, with attitude, to pull a car trailer to different events with my(1972 SS 396) Camaro in it. Love the attitude and look of the 1960 Pontiac's.

How about a Strato Chief?  2 door sedans make cooler hot rods (my opinion only), and this one is up on all 4 wheels already...

Here is our 1960 Pontiac Strato-Chief. It is a Canadian model, thus having Chevrolet's frame, engine and transmission and Pontiac's body.
The transmission is standard Syncro-Mesh and the engine is a 261 cu. in. inline six (the Strato-Six).
This car needs complete restoration, but is all there and all original, could make a really cool car, that very few people have. See some sample pictures, I really wanted to hot rod this car but have way to many projects.

I think this one went thru Calgary a couple years ago.  Showed up on a trailer at a car show.   Its pretty rusty, floors, trunk were gone.  I believe its in the registry....

yes I seen that Strato on here, was wondering about it. I'm not in a hurry so the more cars that show up for sale the better. Thanks to all who let me know of 1960's for sale, much appreciated.Did anyone notice the trailer brake handle below the dash on the drivers side? I had to ask about it,didn't know what the thing was.
