BINGO ! I was waiting for that !

I recall setting up a deal for a friend with a 70 LS6 chevelle 26,000 miles from Rob Rump-he had a 69 Yenko in the same garage for almost twice as much $  I said the R.P.O. car should be more valuable--I was wrong then and am wrong as time went on

demand sets value

I like original but have appraised some really nice resto mods lately

Because i dont want drum brakes I should buy a new car...I dont think so.

Stock sucks. At least at the trim level my car was. These cars are as much about wrenching and making them your own as driving around with old memories and mildew smell.

I dont have an airfreshner...my car smells like 94 octane and burnt rubber.

Well guys i would like to say a few words here. I agree with Dualquadpete and Nailhead, I think mostly any old car is rare it doesn't matter if it's an sd or ss or a grocery go getter it's a classic rebuild it. Get the you car that you always wanted and build it to your dreams. Number matching car really don't sell for big money unless it's a hemi or an LS7 Chevelle well you know what i mean, and you spend way to much money building it that way. The big thing with building an original factory car is date code for everything. Very costly and hard to find all the pieces. How original do you want to go. Today's muscle cars or classic cars, most guys stick big engines, modern suspension and brakes it's just way cooler i think. Plus if you have the family safety is number one for me how about you? Put it this way you could be the best driver in the world  and your driving somewhere and some kid in his tuner flys by you and cuts you off and maybe misjudges his distances slams the brakes on are you going to have  good brakes and handling. Besides It's impossible to have the 100 percent original car, they don't make those original paint colors they only can match it close as possible.  Also you say you have no front end issue, but does your car have bias tires. Radial tires will change the handling, better steering control and not original. I'm trying to piss you off.  Anyway upgrading the suspension and brakes are a must in today world because you want to be able to stop just like today's cars and i really think having a better suspension makes those car more fun to drive and if you still want the stiffer ride you always can get adjustable shocks........ Do you have the original style GM battery just asking.....PIECE.......Keep in mind that there were only 124 of these cars produced 1967 acadian canso sd 6cyl cars that 67acadiansd is talking about.......so it is rare but that all folks.......................

good to see i pushed some buttons and wolk some guys upsmile good to hear all your opinions and yes I agree with all at a certain level and some still stinkwink anyhow most are correct when saying its your car you paid for it so make it they way you want, i also agree with the safty issue and needing the family and yourself to be safe. in the end its nice to see all you folks working hard at what you like and helping keep these cars on the road, (rare or not rare) they are all pieces of history (modifed or not) its just nice to see them on the road instead of sitting or getting crushed. hope I didnt offend anyone with being too much of a crank turnerbiggrin  oh wait this brings up another good question, a lot of folks have mentioned safty is important , how many have installed after market seat belt in there cars? or any seat belt for that matter?

I am doing many mods to my car. My goal is for all of them to look factory. None of the mods can't be put back. The bezel hood and truck are of of Pick n Pull cars soon to be crushed anyway. My 2nd one will be restored as close to original as possible the only change will be replacing the tired 260 with a fresh 307. you can see the change under the project.

A lot of the cars some people consider classic are just old junk to me. Just because a car has escaped the crusher for at least 25 years doesn't make it a classic. i have spent my life with old cars, but I'm picky and opinionated. I prefer stock 90% of the time too look at..but to drive on a daily basis? Nope.
Do what you want to your own car, stock or modified doesn't matter to me. but make it safe to drive if your putting it on the road!!
