Can you shed more light on it Jim?

Did you get the car running?

Condition of body, frame, interior???

Any known history that you can share?

The Grand Prix from 69-72 is a very under appreciated car. I started parting my 69 out due to a bad frame and listed a few items on ebay. I sold most of the parts and had a few conversations with some of the buyers. Every one of them agreed that these cars are very undervalued for what they are and have just not been recognized by the car market. Your car being a factory 4 speed might help it get sold. Last winter I checked out a few really nice GPs at car shows that were for sale at resonable prices around $10,000 for rust free nice cars that were ready to drive and needed next to nothing. They did not sell and the opinion of most people are they are a big boat.

The guys I sold parts to were all over 60 years old so this may be the age demographic that has an interest in them. It is sad to say but the fact is I will get more money parting out my 69 gp than what I wanted for the complete car.

Good luck with your sale.

Al

Which 428? There would be a premium for the 390 horse vs. the 370. Does it have the ram air style exhaust manifolds?

Don't forget the Trans has to be in neutral to check for Posi. if it's in gear the opposite tire will go the opposite direction (as an open carrier does).

Here is a link to the 1969 Grand Prix section of the 1969 Pontiac High-Performance cars brochure:

Old Car Manual Project

It is a really neat brochure with foldouts, technical data & detail pictures. Pontiac sent out different high performance cars to different magazine road testers back in the day, with the results being great reviews in print for the brochure. Hot Rod got a prototype Judge, Road & Track got the Firebird 400 convertible, Motor Trend did the Grand Prix 428 H.O. 4-speed, and Super Stock ran a GTO. I have that brochure at home and I must say that it includes far more technical data than most. It is typical for the Pontiac High-Performance brochures from back in the day though.
