Yup, check the condition of your wiring and look for fuel leaks everywhere.  Also carrying a fire extinguisher on board is a good plan.

If that were my 1955 I would be sick over it. It looked & sounded like a beautiful car.

I always thought you could'nt paint a car once it was burned, something to do with paint not sticking to the metal after fire.

I would assume the metal would be distorted and possibly hardened due to the heat. I would have to run from that one....

There's only one thing worse than an electrical fire......an electrical fire someone put out.

You may be right, could "open up" the CAN of WORMS but 14G's is Too much for a parts car!!!!!

There's a 57 Belair 2 door hardtop listed in our local "Pennysaver". Southern car, red, black/silver int, 283/glide for 17k. I'd say 14k is way to high for that 55

5000 would be more in line   You have to do the car completely   30-40 g

I know someone who knows that car. The roof apparently is all warped from the heat, but apparently the rest i not bad at all.

A roof swap, new interior, some glass and paint - and it would be a very nice car again. I do believe the $5k mentioned above is a more realistic price however since you would have to put a minimum of 20K into that car.
