Question on rim size for 66-67 Acadian ,nova ,chevy II

So i woild like to know what is the widest rim i can put on the front and rear of my 67 Acadian Canso SD ,this question can be answered by anyone with a 66-67 nova or  chevy II also.I believe its only 5.5 or 6 inch for the front and as wide as a 7 inch for the back is this correct .thanks for any help ,Jimmy B

It depends a lot on tire size and offset Jimmy.

I know I've seen a thread on this over at Steve's Nova Site. I am off the computer here shortly but I will try to find it for you later, as long as I remember!

I work at a tire and wheel shop.
Check out the following link.I use it as a reference for fitments.
Although it pertains to the Chebbie 2 and Nova's, it is still a great reference to tire and wheel fitment for Acadian models

When I bought my 66 Canso SD rolling shell in 1997 it came with a set of 14x6 centrelines 215/65/14 front and 14x7 centrelines on 255/65/14 rear and they fit ok, if that helps you (not sure of the offset but watch it for spring clearance)
Regards
Chris

It depends on the look you want. Im not into the 17" or 18" rims that look like they have elastic bands for tires. Considering my car came factory with 13" wheels, the 15" looks just right in my opinion.

I have the following on my car currently and it does fit.
Front
15x6 with 4" backspacing
195/60R15

Rear
15x7 with 4 7/8" custom backspace
245/60R15

If I had to do it again, I noticed the 15x6 front rub very minorly when I turn sharp and go up a small bump. I would recommend 15x5" or 15x6 with 3.5" backspace.

If you dont want to screw around with custom offest to much a 15x7 rim on the rear with 4.5" backspace., but you won't squeeze the 245.
