 Unless we're talking about an L79 327 T3 headlight and this one is only an L35 or L66 396.  If this were the ultra-rare L78 396, then I suspect you'd be right.  Now with an L34 396, it gets a little more debatable but if you consider the power to weight ratio, the L79 would probably still be brighter ....

I understand the L79 T-3 glass has a higher silica content.

Now the "hope diamond" of T-3's is the ones used on the ZL-1 cars. The filament is made of a heavy duty tungsten that resists stretching on heavy acceleration. You have to have pretty deep pockets to afford them (if you can find them).

You're close Todd, as I recall, that heavy duty titanium was actually the much more elusive alloy:

unobtainium.

Nice avatar 427Carl but it's got halogens in it. Also, there's no V8 emblems on the front fenders so it's clearly a converted 6 cylinder car of little or no value.
