 Unless we're talking about an L79 327 T3 headlight and this one is only an L35 or L66 396.  If this were the ultra-rare L78 396, then I suspect you'd be right.  Now with an L34 396, it gets a little more debatable but if you consider the power to weight ratio, the L79 would probably still be brighter ....

I understand the L79 T-3 glass has a higher silica content.

Now the "hope diamond" of T-3's is the ones used on the ZL-1 cars. The filament is made of a heavy duty tungsten that resists stretching on heavy acceleration. You have to have pretty deep pockets to afford them (if you can find them).

You're close Todd, as I recall, that heavy duty titanium was actually the much more elusive alloy:

unobtainium.

Ah! Yes, now that you mention it I do remember it was Unobtainium. Don't forget the gold plated terminals too!

So if you had T3's in a space ship, going faster that the speed of light, and you turned on the T3's...would they work?

Nice avatar 427Carl but it's got halogens in it. Also, there's no V8 emblems on the front fenders so it's clearly a converted 6 cylinder car of little or no value.
