That is excellent Carl! I guess i can rest easy now and take the 24 hour guard off mine.  Doesn't look like it needs too much of anything really except a big block.

I just retired this week and once I get over this cold I'm finally going to go full time(in and around the honey do list) on the ole girl until i really need to look for another job so maybe we'll see you on the road next year in Manitoba.

Ken

I've been waiting all night for you to see this!!!

This car was just down the road from Warren's, Ken, about 20 or 25 minutes closer to Winnipeg. Never seen or heard of it before but Warren and his brother Vern (57Poncho) knew about it. Apparently the asking price for it last year was at least double what it was now.

Got any spare "Grande" emblems???!!!

Finally, 66GrandeGuy, GrandeJim, Cheviac and probably a few more I've missed can lean back and exhale. I promise to quit hounding them to sell me their car...

That was a great find Carl and nice that it was close to home. I knew you would find something better than what you had been looking at.

Congratulations and keep us posted on this one.

Well good for you. Congrats. Which one is the priority now to be finished first? Between you Carls man there is lots of action happening. Pretty boring out here in the west.

Congrats Carl, so glad it worked out for you. I kind of figured the fact you did not mention it that something was up. Should make for some good conversation next coffee .biggrin.gif

Couple of small details, then the 65 Acadian goes to sleep. Pick away at the 67 Nova this winter. It's a father/son project this winter. He and I made a promise there would be one night a week in the garage on it, minimum 90 minutes.

This GP may not need a lot for me to put some miles on it next summer, as is, 283 glide, so maybe a few hours on it this winter.

Also have a little bit of work to do on a relative's car when time permits.

Thanks very much for the tip Ian. I would have seen it eventually since I have been searching for a GP almost daily on Kijiji for a long time, but it helped being in on the ground floor!

They say this car has the original 283 (and they claim it's bored to 4") but the heads are later 350 I think, and the intake and carb are aftermarket.

If thats true , that would make it a 301. Guess you will have to do the block number check to confirm if 283 block.  No mater as long as it runs good until it gets a 427.smile.gif   I think Dave is eye balling that 283 already.

Not sure he'd want it. 283 but the whole top end is changed to a combo of aftermarket and 350 stuff.

Ha, Ha,  Yup,  if its a 283,  i'll use it!biggrinbiggrin

Strange it has newer heads tho,  would be interesting to see if it is really a 283?

Is there a hole behind the distributor for pcv/draft tube??

I'll be checking numbers out when I give it a shampoo. Likely a year or two before it comes out though. I have to build an engine for it first.
