I believe buckets/console were standard on GP. The Strato was an option as far as I know, not sure if it was a chargeable option or simply a change of option code.

Curiosity got the better of me. I pulled the metal back off the driver's bucket, and there it was!

Proves once again, F40 gives you a 12 bolt, even with a 283 Powerglide.

Not much to say, tint windshield, heavy duty suspension, power brakes, block heater, power steering, wheel covers, am radio.

The interesting thing is, it has everything for a rear defog except the defogger unit! Switch and full harness is there, no unit. Must have been a dealer installed since it's not on the build sheet.

Very nice, does the car have the large front sway bar on it??

I just checked behind the metal back of my 67 strato bench and found this.

I never thought to measure the front bar. I'll run out in a bit and do that.

Neat tag Andrew. Have you decoded it? I can't remember them all. I know the P01 and P77 have to do with wheel/tire/hubcap but forget what. Also, can't recall what A39 is.

That seat is 67 Caprice, right? Looks like it from the 16647 code.

Yes 67 Caprice. P01 is the wheel covers, P77 is the tires and A39 is deluxe seat belts.

Funny thing is my 67 chev dealer's confidential RPO price bulletins say that the P01 wheel covers are not available for caprice's. So ??? confuse

Why do all the parts books say there is only one front bar size, 65-70???

This bar is .815" or 13/16".

I came across this in the basement today too. I had forgotten. I guess it will go on there too...

Is this an OEM bar or the later replacement Andrew? I forget but I know you are the one who taught me that the replacement bar has a different shape to the dip in the center under the housing.

Acording to the brochure buckets standard on the sport coupe and the strato bench is option  on the sport sedan.

Got my answer! I had posted a pic of this bar 3 years ago (must be getting old, I had forgotten!) and we decided then it is not an original, at least for a 66 or 67.

That's worded funny! It really doesn't mention a Strato bench in the sport coupe, yet we know they could be had in black or fawn.

Your right, it goes against what the parts catalogue shows. Shows that the  brochures are not always correct.

I always suspected F40 gave you a 12 bolt in Cdn cars. I've seen so many 6 cylinders and small 8s with the big front sway bar, 4 rear control arms and a 12 bolt.

The strange thing is, the 12 bolt seems to be a given with F40 but not the big bar. Mine is another example. I had forgotten the sizes so I checked back. Mine has F40, 12 bolt, small front bar (13/16").
