Weren't those cars based on the Renault R8 or R10 and have a rear engine? There was an orange one for sale in Hamilton about 30 years ago. It was the only one I had ever seen.

There is so much misinformation on the Internet about the Manic GT that it is time for a Website to not only help set the record straight, but also act as a repository for all things Manic and provide an online registry.

The Manic was created in Quebec in the late 1960s, when the province was heady with the success of Expo 67 - Montreal's World's Fair - and before the upheaval caused by the FLQ Crisis of 1970, when Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau declared the War Measures Act to stem violent insurgency in Quebec.
It also was the end of an era - when an upstart young company could create its own car. Soon the onset of pollution and safety regulations would make such a venture all but impossible.
But all that may be changing: In 2010 a Manic GT was included in an exhibition called The Search for the Canadian Car at the Museum of Science and Technology in Ottawa; after years of languishing in barns and garages, several cars are now under restoration; and more and more information is being made available online.

CdnGMFan your right it apparently was built on the Renault R8 frame which was a downfall for the road salt.
Pontiacanada... I thought it was an Opel as soon as I saw it.
I wonder what one of these would be worth nowadays?.. I imagine they will be worth a lot of money in just a few short years.
