Finally found her

Time to officially sign in.  I've been on the site for a while and simply never had the time to introduce my mid life event....1970 Convertible Parisienne.

My dad was always a Pontiac guy...so my first car had to be a Pontiac.....apparently an American built Parisienne (1971), 400 block engine.....that I bought when I was 16.......ran it for 3 years and then could not afford the gas.....sadly moved on to a  more efficient foreign model.

Got the Pontiac bug a few years ago and had been searching for a similar 1971, with no luck.....probably not looking hard enough or in the right places.  But I did come across a 1970 Convertible Parisienne, and as soon as I saw it....knew right away.....gotta get me this car.  A little haggling, a lot of work, and it is on the road.  Still have lots more to do, and lots to learn.  This site has been a fabulous resource.

Your car looks super nice from that photo.

On your Dad's '71, Parisiennes were all built in Oshawa, 1971 was the first year that Pontiac engines were used in the big Canadian Pontiacs.

looks good, but don't worry about it looking good from 25 feet, we like em close up. I know cars that don't see the road cause owners think there too pretty. welcome from winnipeg.

well before i had it replaced i actually asked about 20 people.....and had mixed reviews....the black (which you can find on a few red convertibles) looks very good, but the white is just an eye catcher.  and the guy who did the install, covered the inside with a black liner, so it matches the interior and the interior looks fantastic........it's a convertible.....the roof is down a lot ........K
