Identifying some gear sets

I bought 5 or 6 NOS GM rear gear sets at an auction a few years ago. Most of them are still in the GM boxes.  If I post the numbers I can find on them can any of you guys tell me what they are for?  The ratios I can figure just by counting teeth but the applications I don't know.

Once I get some info I can decide to toss or sell.

I will be here likely another 1/2 hour or so. If you can post, I will see what I can do. Otherwise it would be tomorrow some time Ken.

It would have to be tomorrow as I'd have to literally burrow through about 20 cords of birch firewood to get at them.  (Thats a whole other story)

Ok, I can wait!

Just let me know what you have for numbers and we'll see what we can do. If you have ANY idea as to what any of them is, just indicate it with the number as I will likely just be scouring the numerical index in various catalogues to see what they fit.

Well, if you set fire to the wood, you'll move the pile, and heat treat the gears at the same time, making them far more valuable! biggrin

Ok!   Dug Out all six.  For 5 of them i was able to get numbers off the boxes but from one i was only able to get the number off the pinion so i hope these will be of some use.  They all came from an old GM dealership in northern Alberta so could date from the 50's and 60's (70's?)

1.  #5728610 or 5728670   12 pinion 37 ring  (3.08 ratio)

2.  #1816714   10 pinion 39 ring  (3.90 ratio)

3. #180422 (from pinion)  9 pinion 38 ring  (4.22 ratio)'

4. #3790629 (kindof rusty) 12 pinion 37 ring  (3.08 ratio)

5. #5723201  9 pinion 37 ring   (4.11 ratio)

6. #3819037 9 pinion 37 ring   (4.11 ratio)

Most  have some degree of light rust although the two 4.11s are quite good and all have crush sleeves and shims so are complete i think.

If you could let me know i might have a clue as to what to do with them.

Thanks!
