I want to change over the stock throttle linkage to a cable system. Is there another car that was equipped with a cable system I could get one from you can suggest with all necessary items such as brackets, etc... before I go with something aftermarket?
I've got a 66 with a 700R4 .went to gm dealer got a gas pedal cable assembly for a 90's S-10 pkup for about $35.00 had them in stock. had to drill 2 holes in floor for pedal its already made up ready to bolt in fed cable thru existing hole in firewall above old pedal. cable ends are already on for carb att. cheap and easy been useing it for 4 years now never a problem .
I've got an issue with clearance between the back of a set of new sheet metal valve covers I installed and the current original throttle arm on the car. I trimmed the throttle arm to work but it looks and feels sloppy. The car was an original 6 cylinder car and so I thought maybe about converting it to a cable system, as I've been digging into it, I read somewhere that the throttle arms were different on 6 and 8 cylinder models. I thought maybe I'd look at that first. Tony
