pete is a good friend of mine, he restores cars for a living. he built this car a few years ago and it is very nice. if memory serves the only thing i would do to this car is replace the rear side panels (door) he has taken this car to the syracuse nationals the last few years and they go crazy over this car.

I like the car. I am not sure it is worth that kind of money. I know you can't rebuild one for that, I have been there done that but guys with numbers cars are not getting near to what they once were worth.

I want one of these but would not pay that much.

Would a well rebuilt 427 and 4 speed with all the bells not be worth at least 12k anyway?

Back in the day I'm sure they were quite the sleeper. These days you expect them to have a BB 4 speed no more sleeper

yeah i secong that

i don't think it's a sleeper at all, especially without any PS,PB, who would want to race in that???

Beautiful cars, all of them..(minus one particular wheel set!)
I'm with a few of you here on the drivability of the '66. The first thing I look at on the engine shots is the master cylinder-and thats a really small one for such a brutish car. To make it a real world driver it really needs a set of discs- easily reversible at any rate. But to look at theres not too many that can beat it!

Today you'd need a 4 door Biscayne with full wheel covers and a BBC to be a sleeper.

Just to clarify biggrin   I love, love, love, the 2 door plain Jane Look... and I think Petes 66 is a steal at 25g  for that level of restoration..

but am thinking for the same money I can have some "go" and comfort...

The 2 door 67 Beaumont, I have, is a "sleeper" and a great plain Jane car...

But I love bright colors, stripes, chrome Cragar like wheels...

Guess I have some crow in me (attracted to shiny things)

and the no ps pb thing is personal thing  My 66 Chief was a pia to drive until I put p.s. on   and the standard brakes were always good for 3 hard stops from 100mphwink

??????? You can't be serious, are you?

Do you still watch black and white TV ???

We all remeber the days when we were young,                 but we are old and spoiled...

Those old standard cars are great to drive  This gorgeous car would great to park in the garage to show off....  but a pain to drive   You must be very young

That right Carl. I admit I'm too old to enjoy manhandling a full size '60's car with no power assists and undersized drum brakes. Too much drama for these old bones. The truth is when these cars were new the reviews about the powerful engines/ drivetrain were great.

But the handling & braking were severly criticzied as being not up to the job. My 64 Parisienne 409 was a pig to hang onto, and I was 17-18 yrs old and lot braver than I am now.

This is still a great looking car, but not my preference. that's all. Now i want something that will go hook up and in a straight line when i hit it,and then stop on a dime and give .09 cents change.
