im not a chevy fan but this one nice, these cars cry out for tall tires and thats to bad because low profile makes them handle well

Yea. Too well. One left turn and you'd fly across to the passenger side on that slippery bench without a belt on!

Car made $23,700 and didn't hit reserve. Says they have $70,000 in restoration costs.

It sure is a beauty and they are saying numbers match 427 and 4 speed.

I would try to contact the owner and ask him or one of his friends.

There is another one for sale just east of London. Not as much $$, not as nice.

I love the car but for 25g want a little more comfort   The no power steering, no power brakes, soft bench seat, is not fun on a long drive, on a HOT day when your 6 decades old

Nice car...very nice car. I guess though at the end of the day it's 'only worth' what someone's willing to pay and what the seller is prepared to accept. When I bought mine (all original) 8 years ago I paid considerably more. The person who buys this car for 25K is lucky.

Quote; 'Imagine flying down the road in that heavy '66, 427, 4-speed and you have to stop hard ... manual brakes, single master.'

I can tell you no truer words have been spoken....ask me how I know. Even with metallic brake shoes you really have to stand on the brake pedal to get her slowed down, stopping is a planned event.

Quote; 'I like to look at them but have no desire to drive a no P/S, P/B, A/C,O/D, drum brake car anymore.'

??????? You can't be serious, are you?

Yes I am very serious. When those cars were built new the brakes were inadequate, even with the metallic linings. The handling wasn't much better. That's why so many of them got smashed, killing the drivers and anyone else in them.

Ask me how I know. On 2nd thought, don't.

It's a very sharp car indeed but if you're going to build a clone why not make it better handling and stopping than those sh#tty little drum brakes and factory el cheapo suspension that could barely keep a 6 cylinder Biscayne under control back in the day.

Any help is appreciated.

I saw that last night.  I'm going to try calling him tonight.  It looks like the same car that was for sale in the same area last summer, except it had steelies and dog dishes.

Seen that one also. About a year ago I think it was the same one I viewed in Hamilton. Had 396 or 427 fender flags, skinny's and poverty caps. Decent shape at that time. This has a dent on right rear quarter, flags in wrong spot, but not bad if you can do a bit of negotiating.

Does anyone know who built this car? I am now the owner and would love to see some pics of the restoration!

The car is currently having a TKO600 swap done
