14" tires for 66 Grande Parisienne

They only make a few 14" sizes in TA's CLICK for chart. Scroll down for tire specs.

Mine are 25.9" so you will be able to get the height you want.

I am starting to look at getting tires for the 66. It currently has 15" with wires on it from a couple of decades newer, and even thought I'm not driving it I'm tired of the "new" look those wires give.

I want to put 14" on with the stock GP covers but man, what a challenge. 14" is basically obsolete. Best thing I seem to come up with for close to stock look is a 225 70 14. What have you guys run for 14" on your 65-70 B body cars.

And before you suggest it, NO, 15" is not an option for me! I want to run those stock wheel covers.

I know you already have the 14" covers Carl, but just curious... was a 15" wheel not an option in 66?

No, I think 67 was the first year and that was because disc brakes came out and the 14's don't clear the calipers.

 Thanks Elroy.

I would like a decent width but I don't want a short little tire, like to have close to 26"-27" and there's not a lot out there it seems.

I just checked my 66 Sales brochure and I don't see any mention of 15" pneus.

Carl my LeMans has 14" Rally II and I am running BFG 215 70 14 as that was very close in height and width to the original G70 14. I get a lot of comments about using more tire however that was my choice.

These 215/70/14's T/A's from Coker seem reasonable.

That's a fantastic price. Canadian Tire will order them in, that's how I got mine. I think I was around $560 all in.

I looked at those but I think I maybe 225 is more suited to my B body.

I was just looking at the Hankook on Discount Tire Direct in a 225.

I also priced the BFG Radial T/A today at work.

225/70 will get you 26.5" in a TA. You'd have to go with a 75 series to see 27" in a 14" Radial. And by the looks of it it won't be a TA and it will be twice the price.

Ideally I'd love to put on a 235 and a 70 series but that seems to be a dream size only!

So far I think it's a toss up between the top 2 tires.

I really like the look of this one but I'm not a big Firestone guy.

You cannot put a Hankook on a 66 Gp Carl. Must be a T/A or a Firestone. Says so in the owners manual. I think Firestones would surprise you (for the better) today.

The Firestone tempts me. Discount Tire Direct has the best tire prices but they don't do the Firestone. Tire Rack has the best price on that one.

Wait, Onlinetires.com has an even better deal on the Stones. Just over 400 shipped for a set.

Order the Indy's from the tire rack Carl. They'll be on your doorstep in 3 days. The website quotes and calculates everthing, including all Prov/Fed tax. You might be able to find the same tires locally, but who carries 14's in that type of tire? I used TireRack last year and they were great. A tire guy I know could get the tires I wanted, but thay were going to take 3 weeks! (17" Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's). Also his price was actually the same...with his discount. No brainer.

I'm in no hurry at all though. Onlinetire is 20 bucks each cheaper than Tirerack.

I am going to price them through my work tomorrow but I doubt it will be that cheap.

I put Cooper Trendsetters (215/75/R14) on my 68 2+2.

I bought 5 of them, installed for around $500, a couple of years ago.

Still enjoying them. Nice white wall and a nice ride.

My concern about those was that they would look too narrow, not filling in the big open area for the wheels and tires. Are you happy with how they look?
