Parkinsons needs serious research.

My father who not only in my mind but many others was the greatest person we have met.On Saturday afternoon the disease won after ravaging his whole body. The lord gained and i and others lost today.Have been looking after him and my mom for about 7 years now.Dad went to home 3 years ago and mom still at home with copd and not too well.Parkinsons takes everything away. Some slowly some faster but all.Brain,organs,balance,walking.talking.swallowing,breathing.Horrible to watch esp. the last 6 months or so.We were there with him and he left so peacefully. He made sure as he always looked after us and didnt want to upset us anymore.Always thinking of others.Thats my Dad.

Randy. the 23rd Pslam comes to mind......

I am a strong supporter and is personally one of my top 2 charities I contribute to.
I contribute to the Michael J Fox Foundation. www.michaeljfoxfoundation.com
If you donate and fill out the forms appropriately you will get a taxable form here in Canada you can use for your taxes.
Michael J Fox is my hero. What he has done for PD is amazing raising over 240 Million dollars and he truly beleives in his lifetime their will be a cure.
Although I do not have PD, I do have a neurological disease and Mr Fox funding for research has allowed me to have brain surgery tomorrow.
Without MJF, without his foundation for research, I would not be able to have surgery. I owe so much to MJF. PD is a horrible disease and
its so sad to see it take the lives of so many good people like Randys dad. I pray all the time for a cure for PD.
Your dad sure sounded like another hero. God be with you and him.
I am veyr sorry for your loss. Your dad is no longer in pain and now in heaven.

Randy,

Sorry to hear about your father. My father struggled with Parkinson's for 15 years before he died at the age of 74. He was able to be independant up to his last day. My brother found him at the bottom of the stairs one morning. It is a terrible disease and I am a supporter of the research. I feel that I have not "lost" as much as my dad has "won" because he is in a better place...the place where I will be seeing him again, thanks to the Father's son "winning" a victory for ALL of us. My prayers are with you and your family.

Randy, I am sorry to hear of your loss. However, your story is very inspiring because of how you talk about your dad. It's wonderful to hear people say their dad was the best dad in the whole world, and say it as adults, not just as kids.

Thx.To my friends and fellow members. He really was the greatest. All he did was help help help and always had his work done too.Never harmed another person or animal. Those who donated money to parkinsons are my heros. Its horrible to watch and from watching my dad devastating to have. The last couple years every day i could see it getting worse and dads ability to fight get less every day.T Y From my Dad and I

I too express my sympathy, especially since I can relate to this cruel disease having lost a parent to it as well.

M J. Fox is doing wonders for research, hopefully find the cure some day.
