, but I am doing it for less $$$. I am going to build my own harness for the 4-way flashers , and I won't be needing the install kit . The 66 are the only year with the 1" DD column shaft . This is a good thing , as I can save about $250 by utilizing the steering shaft from a 1990 Jeep Cherokee XJ . The steering box is a quick ratio Saginaw from a 1995 Grand Cherokee, and it is a direct bolt in. You can use your original 66 steering column with the jeep box if you buy this rag joint coupler http://lee-powersteering.com/rebuild-misc.htm
I am using the jeep return line from the jeep box to my pump, and the jeep pressure line as well. I will be cutting my old pressure line , flaring it,and re-connecting it to the Jeep pressure line , that way the O-ring metric fitting end of the line will fit in the Jeep box , and the old style compression style fitting will fit into the Beaumont pump. Its a hybrid pressure line.
When this job is done , the Beaumont will have a nice new tilt column , and no sloppy rag joint , with a better collapsible steering shaft, which will connect the column to the quick ratio jeep box . I will give details on the project so anyone here can do the same to their a-body . The column was $345 , floor plate $100 , Grand Cherokee steering box $40 , Cherokee XJ steering shaft $20 , Cherokee XJ power steering hoses $10.
The Flaming River column floor plate is really clean looking , and fits nice. The picture shows my nice looking and very functional $50 Mopar aluminum master cylinder , and $20 cable operated throttle assembly from a Pontiac Firefly. Let me know if you want a better description on how to install the master cylinder.
