1967 Acadian 4 speed swap

Hello:

My friend Steve is swapping a 4 speed into his 1967 Canso and has a question. The clutch rod boot seems to need to go through a foam/cardboard part of the firewall near the steering column. Is there another part, perhaps metal that goes there to support the clutch rod boot when a manual transmission is used in place of an automatic? Any info or pictures or a part is greatly appreciated.

Also he has the 4 speed floor plate and is hoping someone who has done this and might have some info /pictures available. He is using a factory console and hopes to make it look factory and have the shifter poke through the console in the correct location.

Thanks

Randy
