My American Pontiac!

That car evokes so many childhood memories of travelling to National Parks and cottages. It's not that we had one the same but it is iconic in its represenation of that era and post WWII family life.

pontiac1.JPGPontiac3.JPGPontiac2.JPGHeres the 59 Ive been working on over the past few years-fully mechanically refurbished but I wanted to save the original paint. Before I bought this car I was actually searching for the Canadian equal as  I wanted the Chevy running gear but this cars truly been a pleasure to own and run. Its a California car and still has the UCLA gate passes on the bumper from '66 to prove it!

Very cool!! When I was a kid living in Montreal our next door neighbor's had a '59 Wagon. I alway's thought it was cool even back then. The owner would come over every year as Santa, as a kid I thought it was cool that he had a Pontiac wagon to make all his deliveries lol!

I have zeroed in on 59-70, 74-76 B bodies. I found a number of black plate Cali cars today big Impalas and Kingswoods BBC for under $7,500. It's gotta be a big block or big cube.

Heres a few interior shots. Pretty much I ws able to do everything but the actual seats. I did the door panels in wood to kind of tie into the roof rack, and probably moreso because wood just works on wagons. The angles on the seats mimic the original design. The dash is untouched original. No comments on the headliner please-I did the best I could! Also, the water decals are ebay finds-its amazing theyve been kicking around all these decades and still go on half decent.

Cool!  I love vintage decals and tend to photograph them whenever I see one, like this 1963 National Parks pass that I saw on a '58 Pontiac... gives the car a little history, like you can picture the original family that had the car enjoying it while on vacation... yeah I can be a little sappy sometimes.

Wow, I remember one of those being on our car when I was a kid. I can't recall if it was on the 62 Acadian wagon or the 66 Malibu wagon.
