66 Grande Parisienne driver's side door panel picture requested (for power window switch mounting)

I am sure Ken can help me out but just in case he can't, I would like to get a picture showing the location of the power window switch in the driver's door. Eventually I will be converting my car to power windows and although I did this same conversion once before, it's too long ago for me to remember (approx 1976) I can't recall if I cut forward from the window crank hole or backward. What I am after is a decent shot from not too far away so I can see the proximity of the switch to the door panel pattern at each end of the switch, if that makes sense.

Ken?

I thought rather than PM for this I'd ask on here just in case anyone else happens to need the same info (unlikely but you never know!)

Thanks very much, I'm just not sure the door panel is the same (trim style) but that may help.

I'll sure know when I see it. If you could take a shot showing about a 1 foot square area with the switch in the middle that would be perfect.

The square is actually flush with the top of the panel, the angle of the camera is a bit off. Obviously accuracy wasn't high on GM's priority list.

Centre to centre. The two pics should help even if the patterns are different. Good Luck.

Thanks very much. I am hoping Ken can do something similar for me and between the two I am sure I can get it in the proper spot.

As opposed to my house, measure once  curse twice!   Looks like something Bilbo Baggins would live in.

I think with the Grande Parisienne door panel pattern on my pics it will make it pretty easy for you to transfer it over.

Yup, I went and checked an it all makes sense. I just cut back from the crank hole, nothing forward.

Thanks guys for the help!

I'm not ready to get at it yet but I wanted to ask while the thought was there in case you guys weren't around when I need to do it.

Yes, sure planning to.

Funny thing is, I discovered the other night that one of the manual vent gearboxes is stripped anyway!

I'm ordering a pair of gears for the power vents tomorrow. The company that makes them, HYDRO-E-LECTRIC has a 10% off sale until the end of December. These little critters are hard to find. Not many guys sell them.

I bought a pair of convertible top cylinders from Hydro-e-lectric. Good service.

Ken, could I ask a favour of you again?

Sometime could you post up a pic of your passenger side door panel too? No pressure but I'd like to see it some time, in particular the area with the holes for the power window switch and the vent crank switch.

I read somewhere that pure unpasteurized honey is good for fighting colds/flu. So, after getting hammered with a bad cold in Dec 11 I started taking a tablespoon of pure honey every morning. I haven't been sick since. That 13 months- a record for me.  Meanwhile everyone around me at work has been coughing and gagging.
Try it!
