Not a fan of those fender mirrors, must be a Europian car?? Also had a few of those growing up. 72,74,81,91, but like the older ones for style.

Had a 73 and a 72. Both ST's with a 4spd. The one I drove was amazingly stable at speed on the grid roads. The second one was to become a parking lot racer and the city banned any activities of the sort. Wouldn't issue permits to proceed and the cops would wait until the event was over and hand out tickets for noise violations and stunting. Took the desire out of finishing it. Parted the car out. The front buckets and fuel tank ended up in the 33 that Rog (rabbit64) had.

My brother had a 1972 ST that he bought from a dealer in 1977. The dealer claimed it was a 1973 but the 73s had revised tail lights and added bumper guards. It was a fun little car with ET mags & ANSA exhaust. It had an 8-track in it but soon was swapped for a new Pioneer cassette with Jensen co-ax speakers. My brother sold it, then bought it back. he sold it again in 1980 and I never saw it again.

That is until one day about 10 years ago. I was walking in my neigborhood when I saw what appeared to be my brother's car. I flipped! I then realized it was not his car since he had installed a pop-up glass sunroof back in 1977; the car I saw had no sunroof. The colour, year and wheels, even the aftermarket front air dam were like my brother's car. I returned with my camera. About a year later I saw it for sale in an Auto Trader and haven't seen it since. I used to hang out over at Toyotanation back when I still had my mint 1989 Corolla GT-S that I had owned since new. I wonder if anyone over there knows of the car?

Nice cars. I have a pair of the Mags with Toyota center caps and the original, though age hardened BF Goodrich Radial TA's. They were out in the back fourty. I guess someone had fun wearing the tires bald. I knew a fellow who had one of the cars, who waxed his car so often that he wore through the paint on the back corner roof pillars. I was running a slightly modified Datsun 240z around that time. The cars were a little more user friendly back then.

Back in the 70's I remember seeing a particularly oddly modified 72 or 73 Celica: this one had a yellow plastic dish pan bolted to the hood as a makeshift hood scoop. This was hilarious to me and my buddies at the time.
