It all started when Kevin (lueger68) told be about this great site he was on and to come out to the banner signing at Kim's (455GTO). I was surprised to hear Kim say that he had one of his GTO's for sale.  My late father loved GTO's and I had to have it.  My father and I worked together on a 1955 Chevy project and I wanted to dedicate my GTO and its resto to my dad. Thanks Kim! Everybody said, "Leave it together, enjoy it for a while." And boy did I enjoy it... But it was time to do the resto right.  It was restored before, but the paint was really bad and I wanted a car I could polish and say WOW... So I drove it for the last time this year in October to Lueger's Speedshop, took it apart, towed it to the blasters and doh omfg.gif  As Kevin said, "we cracking open a keg of snakes here." After removing all the bondo they used to fill the RUSTY HOLES we had our work cut out for us.  I ordered some body panels and Kevin and I are burning the midnight oil getting ur done.  Here are some pics an I'll keep you posted along the way...

I can relate to peelin the shiny paint off and saying ...WTF !!!!  my 70's vert...never would have built it IF I would have known I'd be replacing every panel...

The body looks pretty solid with only a little rust. Just doing patch panels or full quarters. What is the intended colour when finished?

It's not too bad. Kevin has experience and I'm a steel fabricator. We bought outer wheel houses, 1/2 quarters and fender patches. The final color is going to be pepper green with yellow judge stripes.
