 If you're interested; 327 block s/n for my car is 855634406 according to George. My engine was stolen so I can't tell you the exact casting date but the car production date is July 9, 1965. Parisienne Custom Sport. 300HP L74.

Looks like a March 31, 1965 casting you have there.

yep its c 31 5 ..........march 31 1965 but the number on the front does not come up any were in my books.......maybe its canadian?

also the heads for it ar are 461 bathtub shaped i'd say its a good motor,would be cool to know what it came out of

 Yes it is from Canukistan. The engine s/n's don't match a car s/n's in Canadian cars that I have seen. Maybe one of the "senior" guys can confirm??

 Sounds like a L74 300HP. They were built with the 461 heads. Do they date code fairly close to the block? I'd say it came from a fullsize.

In the late 70's my friend had a 250 horse Impala with the same heads. I don't think they used the smaller heads on the Canadian 327 in 65 did they?

 Not that I'm aware. I remember reading a post where it mentioned all Canadian data is on microfilm and is not searchable.
