Where is the car going after Jan. 6th ? I am in Toronto and I am willing to store the car for you for $50 a month. No need to get irrational about disposing of the car. It's a tough market and it always takes time to sell these old cars especially when they are well over priced. Think about it, I have lots of space.  It's not a terrible car but we have all given you our opinion on the last thread about it. The price is wrong, the car is decent. Send me a PM (private message) with your phone number, I will talk to you about the car and since I am in East York I could even come over and look at it with you and then give an educated report to the guys. This is your best market for this car and if it is properly disclosed and priced right it will sell.

Due to the look of the bondo in the front fender & rear quarter Carl, I don't think you could call this "original rust"? .....

Obviously it's been mudded up once before & painted, so the originality of the car is long gonedisbelief

Remember the green 69 I had that I posted on here some years back. It was an original paint car, but still needed a COMPLETE resto, like this car. (Mine was a 307/th350 car) I listed the car for $2000, and sold it for $1500, which I think is about the maximum value for this car.

I know you don't want to hear this, but that's reality.

I'm selling this car for my father in law. 2nd Owner. all original
MUST BE sold BY JANUARY 6. or car will be gone
straight six engine
needs some body work
frame is rusted
everything else in mint condition on car
car runs great
interior mint condition, looks brand new
"AS IS"
Car has not been driven in 30 years but still runs great
odometer says 35,000 but i believe that is in miles, if not then it's 35,000 km but i believe it's miles so that would be 61,000 = 35,000 miles
great project car or for parts
the parts on this car are worth more than $8,000 if sold individually
REASONABLE offers will be considered
Anyone offering $5,000 will be ignored
this car was recently appraised for more than that
When fully restore this car is worth more than $40,000
I saw a month ago, about 3 beaumonts that were 50% rust sell for 30k
this car is 90% rust free, only needs 10% restoration

All I can say is GOOD LUCK!! the car is not worth that money!!! Bodywork & frame replacement will put it "over" what it's worth!!! 6 cyl. car is "Non Desirable" in collector car market. But I hope you do well .Pete

the car is not being disposed of, if the car does not sell in time, it will be sold/traded to a family member, not sure what the deal is. if the car isn't sold it's no loss to me or the owner.

What do you guys think the car is worth? we already had it appraised.

Paul,

Please post the appraisal. I'm sure I talk for a lot of others on the forum that would be nice to see. It helps bench mark the value by which the the appraiser went to ascertain the value. Most of us live a great deal of distance away and do a lot of assuming when it comes to cars for sale on line.

Bast of success in selling the Beaumont.

Hmmmm let's see here.

"the parts on this car are worth more than $8,000 if sold individually"...... Please list parts.
"REASONABLE offers will be considered"................................................ What do you call reasonable?
"Anyone offering $5,000 will be ignored"................................................ Why?
"this car is 90% rust free, only needs 10% restoration".......................... Be serious

"When fully restore this car is worth more than $40,000"

If you are so sure it's worth that why are you the only one who thinks so?

Sir, so far you appear to take your written advertisement as the truth as per an expert. From the looks of your pic's the car is extensively rusted, not 10% as you claim. If the frame is rusted then it will require removal of the body from chassis to properly fix. This alone will cost between $4,000 to $6,000 on the cheap side.
Oh, never mind.

"this car was recently appraised for more than that"
Ask the appraiser if he knows of anyone willing to pay more than 60% of the appraisal.

Sir, you are always welcome on this forum by most members, who are genuine enthusiasts. But... most of us are very familiar with the current values of these cars.

I strongly suggest if someone offers you $5000 that you take it. Or retire the car from the marketplace and try some time in the future.

my .02 cents

You must remember that an "appraisel" is for Insurance replacement if car is 'totalled" It is not the "RESALE VALUE" of the car!!! If the appraiser has given you a $$ value that is too high then he doesn't know the cost of repairing rust, or the value of the car needing a frame & extensive rust repair that may look small but will turn into a 'can of worms" when you open it up. I tried to show what happens in the other post but site problems came up & I don't know if they made it [pics] My 64 Catalina is appr. at $ 20G's but I know if I were to sell it, $15G would likely be tops in todays market. Think you can normally take around 4 grand off the Appraised amount to get a close market value!! Pete

I want to thank Barry for having the balls to call it like it is, Rat Boy was going to toss $1,500 into the ring but uncharacteristically chickened out. biggrin Trying to start the new year on a positive note I guess.

It appears some threads have been lost in the last few days. Admin knows about the site issues and is working on it.

a person who owns their own shop could fix this car cheap, yeah it might be expensive for a regular person to pay a shop to replace the frame. the apparisal wasn't for insurance.

if you guys want to make some offers and who ever makes the highest offer, i will talk to the owner and see what he says. like i said this isn't my car so whether sells or not, isn't a big deal for me. if i was the owner, i'd keep this car and fix it up or i'd buy it if i had the money and fix it up. not many of these cars left, pretty soon there wont be very many cars left to restore so enthusiast should be more eager to snatch up what classic cars there are left.

in my opinion, this car looks almost brand new despite the minor rust on the fenders and the frame. i had a few people look at it and said the same thing, the car looks brand new, which is amazing if you ask me, the car is 44 years old and hasn't hardly been used in probably 30 years. why they didn't take better care of the car is beyond me. Everything on the car is in fact original.

post here or pm if you would like to make an offer

With all due respect    do you have photos of the "minor rust" fender???      The photos on Kijiji must be from a different car ?

Paul has his opinions & we have ours, on the condition of the car!!! Again with due respect, he is not budging on condition of car so I think we have done our best to inform him of that, so lets just let him try & sell the car on Kijiji & wish him luck as the chances of selling it here at asking price is "SLIM & NONE"

okay then what do you think it's worth at the most? like i said if people make offers on it, who ever has the highest offer, i will pitch it to the owner,  if he says no then that's all i can do. i'm sure if someone offers like 5 or 6 grand i can talk him into it

Paul did you look at "68 post" car that he sold??/ V8 with mags & body needing work, but not a frame replacement!! That should "TELL" you something!!! I tried to post some pics. of my 52 that only had a 'spot" showing on 1/4 panel & what i got into after opening it up!! Not pretty. If you get a offer anywhere near 5g's run with it, as I think it's only a 1500 to 2000 $ car in todays market!!! Your father in law is not up todate in what it's going to bring, saying it's a 40thou car "restored" doesn't mean didley squat if it costs that to get there.

Speaking of Chevelles, check out this Chevelle that's currently for sale on here. It's a beaut and only $14000 AND it's still for sale! The old car market is a mess right now. Here's the link:
