if what you say is true then i guess the appraiser ripped him off, why the appraiser would lie is beyond me. i just assume that this car is worth the same as a chevelle

Realistically if you spent 40K on that car it would never be worth that anyhow,so if you want to throw money away I'll give you my address.Even guys that spend tons of money more desireable cars a hard pressed to get their money back, maybe someones trying to drum up a down payment for a first home or a summer cottage,I agree with another member,2 grand is more than enough for that car,you may think it only needs this and that, but when you pull cars apart you will find IT NEEDS EVERYTHING,thats the way it is,or are you going to have a really nice paint job with rusty  bumpers and trim, and a interior that looks like hell.Cars like that need everything gone over, and there just isn't going to be very many that will take that car on unless its pretty much for free.

Speaking of Chevelles, check out this Chevelle that's currently for sale on here. It's a beaut and only $14000 AND it's still for sale! The old car market is a mess right now. Here's the link:

The appraiser did a blind appraisal. He took the 150+ bucks and ran! He did have a great dinner with his girlfriend that night. Sorry.

The truth is that if you want a realistic evaluation of what the car is worth, this is the site for you to get it from. Listen to what these guys are telling you so you can tell the owner...who in fact probably fell off his chair why he was told he could get 8 grand for his rust bucket. Anyway, all due respect on a retail level the car is worth what someone is willing to pay. However, in my mind if the car was mine I would be happy with $1500.00 and would never pay more than that on a good day! Cheers

As far as I know the car is still for sale. The relative that was going to buy it or w/e went back overseas for 2 months for the season. I haven't talked to the owner yet but I will see what he wants to do and I will see if I can get him to go down on it.

I'm selling this car for my father in law. 2nd Owner. all original
MUST BE sold BY JANUARY 6. or car will be gone
straight six engine
needs some body work
frame is rusted
everything else in mint condition on car
car runs great
interior mint condition, looks brand new
"AS IS"
Car has not been driven in 30 years but still runs great
odometer says 35,000 but i believe that is in miles, if not then it's 35,000 km but i believe it's miles so that would be 61,000 = 35,000 miles
great project car or for parts
the parts on this car are worth more than $8,000 if sold individually
REASONABLE offers will be considered
Anyone offering $5,000 will be ignored
this car was recently appraised for more than that
When fully restore this car is worth more than $40,000
I saw a month ago, about 3 beaumonts that were 50% rust sell for 30k
this car is 90% rust free, only needs 10% restoration

The ad says "WHEN FULLY RESTORED WORTH MORE THAN $40,000". Wow i was never aware that drugs that powerful were available. Mmmmmmmm. George.
