OK, so here's something a little different.  I had a 67 z24 4spd. convert. that was nothing but rust.  I took a cal. rust free belair A/C body and made the only SS427 post SuperSport they never made.  Take a look and see what you think.  It's a very nice car and I gave it to my daughter for graduation from college.

IMG_0956.JPGIMG_0957.JPGAwesome build, GM missed out on building this model for real. I built a 67 442 for my daughter. As I was getting it ready for paint she now wanted a red Sunfire. WOMEN u got to love their thinking. so I sold it un-painted this summer.

The 2dr post looks awesome in SS427 trim.

Here's a pick of the donor car that gave up its parts for the 2 dr post before resto.

So are you saying he stripped the convert for parts to build the post car, but then the stripped car was restored anyway?

I used all the drive train(except diff.), hood, interior, brackets in floor etc. from the old car.
The crazy part is. I sold the rest of the old car to a guy in B.C. who spent 3yrs. restoring it back to perfect cond.
It's beautiful now and just won best of show @ Chicago muscle car show.
He's got a fortune in that car. He even found the orig. block out on the east coast where the car orig. came from.
More money and time than I would ever of put into it.
But man it's sweet.

Both the clone and the SS convertible are gorgeous. I don't understand why he'd strip a more valuable car to build a clone, though.

Actually, I guess if he's American and lucky enough to be in a dry State, the rust on the convertible might scare him off restoring it. But having seen what some people start with for a project, it seems a bit odd.
