My 67 Beaumont

Here's some pics of what's been going on with my car. The goal is it to be a resto/mod/street/strip car. We'll see where that goes.

The car was dissasembled, the frame was toast. Another frame was sourced from Rick at Lo-Boy's in Baldur. The frame was sandblasted and powdercoated at Glendale Industries. After getting it back I  started rebuidling the suspension. It has a SC&C Stage II front end. The 67 12 bolt was found at a swap meet in Winnipeg, the diff was rebuilt at Sandale Fabrication, it now has a new Eaton posi with 4:10 gears.  Sorry about the quality of the pics, they could be better.

Here we got the body back on anticipating a trip to Winnipeg.

Here it is at Sandale Fabricatrion getting the new full flull floor and full trunk installed

 Finally home from Sandale.

I haven't done much with the body, I still havent decided on a color yet, leaning towards a blue or black. I did send the 327 block out to Millar's in Winkler. There they did their magic on the block and the 370 heads.

Now getting the rotating assembly ready, I mocked up the crank and rods, they all spec'd out good. Next step is to check the ring gaps.

I won this at Interlake (Gimli) Drags last summer.

Thanks for the updates. I wondered how that was coming along.

I imagine we'll see you at the spring swap meet again?

You should come here on Saturday and join the Winnipeg group. We're doing the "Winter CP coffee break in Carl's garage" once again!

Its coming along very slowly. Work keeps getting in the way. For sure about the swap meet. I would love to come for coffee, I saw that was happening. I won't be able to make it, Daytona is this weekend. I think we're coming to 'Peg in 2 weeks.

If you're around the city in an evening, let me know. I get in from time to time. A coffee would be fun.

Good day for you it looks like!

I got nothing done. A bunch of guys came and stood in my garage most of the day and didn't want to help me work on my car! (just kidding guys)

Keep on with the picture updates, that's great.

Installed a trailer harness on my S10. It was literally a 10 minute job. I had no idea a plug and pay harness was available until the friendly guys at NAPA enlightened me. All I had to do was unplug my factory taillight harness and the trailer harness plugs in between. Easy peasy.

I was wondering how you were making out. I recall you looking for parts a while back (ie steering wheel etc). Nice to see it coming along. Great looking engine!!!

 Hey Geoff

I'm slowly working at it. The 327 is nicely taking shape. I never did find a steering wheel. Its not a huge priority right now.

I got a little bit done today. I'm pretty happy with the day's work.

Finally have the motor together!!

 car010_zpsb18a011b.jpg

Changed up the back end a bit.  I had a ABC Performace mini tub kit installed and also change the rear suspension coilovers. Here's a link to the kit,  http://abcperformance.net/mini%20tub%20kit.htmlSandale Fabrication did the installation.

Suppose to be able to stuff a 315 tire in there.

Looking good.
Just a word of caution with those M/T valve covers. If you are planning on using a PCV valve in the valve cover it's going to suck oil as the hole is right over the rocker so no room for a baffle.

You can buy a baffled grommet for the valve cover ...helps a bunch.

A LITTLE TRICK TO KEEPING OIL FROM COMING OUT OF THE BREATHERS AND HAVING ONLY OIL VAPOR IS TO USE A PLASTIC POT AND PAN SCRUBBY FOR CLEANING PANS BASICALLY A

(PLASTIC BRILLO PAD)!!!!

STICK IT IN THE TUBES AND THE OIL WILL DRIP BACK DOWN BUT THE MOTOR WILL STILL BE ABLE TO BREATH!!! SHOULD WORK IN A HOSE ALSO JUST CUT TO SIZE NEEDED AND PACK

IT AS TIGHT AS YOU CAN CLOSEST TO THE VALVE COVER!!!

USE TO DO THAT ON OUR STOCK CARS!!!! THEY COST LIKE A DOLLAR WORKS GREAT!!!biggrin

A small update. I finally got the engine together. I took it down to Sandale Fabrication, Dale and I dynoed it.

HP peaked out at 397 @ 6200. Torque peaked at 406 @ 4400. It was a fun day, the motor ran well, it surprised me I thought 350 maybe 375.
