windshield molding clips

Our local Car Quest has all the clips in stock...

Don't think they ever built a car with a metal screw in place

i ordered a set for  my   car  , i know  they  identical   for  the  front  ans  rear glass  , but i noticed  my  car  had  different  clips  on the bottom  of the  back glass

those clips  are wider and  have a slot  to  move them  left or right   on the  rivet  (  rivets  are on the  car )

i think  they  are latter style  clips  , but they   seem  to  clip to the molding the  same  way  as the norrower clips  that  are all arround

i  was wondering  why  my  car  had  different clips  on the  back  glass  ( i figure  they  just  put  on what ever they  had  in St Therese that  day  )

my  other question is concerning  the  windshield  , i noticed  the clips  on the  side  pilar  are differnet , they  are held by  a metal screw  and they dont seem to  clip the same  way  as the other clips  i ordered  , and  i havent seen those  on sale  where i looked   must  i  continue  browsing  the  net  for  those  ????

there are no rivets  on the pillar to  use  the  other clips

there is 3 of those on each  side  and  i have somme missing  , so  i have to find  out  about these in the near future

my last question   is , are there molding clips  on the bottom  of the winshield  , would  any one have   a pic  of a car   with out  the moldings  or  even better without  a windshield

can a molding clip scientific  make my  day  ??????????????

thank you  all

I would just order a clip set,or go buy a nova manual from company like OPG or whatever and look at the clips,if you order a set of trim clips, they will be whats suppose to be used there, and if they aren't what you have on there then you know that what you're not understanding will show itself,I don't think you have"CHEETAH"clips or anything, there isn't anything special about them.Spend 20 bucks and buy new ones, and toss the old ones away, then she will be mint again!biggrin

that   is what  i did  , i ordered a set  on  e bay  (  25  clips )   and  they   are the same  as the  clips  on  my  car , most of them , actually   my  car  has 3 different types !!!!!!!!   two   are compatible    , but the  clips  on the side pilars  are screw in type   and those are the reason  of my  question.

i will try to  screw  in the  clips  i purchased  but they  look   different from  the  clips on the side pillar  , but  i will try to snap  on  the  moldings  and  see how  they  fit.  Also  i cant  figure  how  the  base of windshield clips  go  on  because the  base has been repaired , there is no  pins  at the base to position any clips  , but maybee there was pins  before that fix  that was a while ago ?????????

i am  trying  to  go  as orig possible in this resto.

can some one help me on this one ?????????

i dont understand why the clips on the side pilar of the windshield are different and i dont see identical clips from the suppliers ??? these clips are held by screws instead of a rivet type of fastener like on the top and the clips looks different from the other clips ,

my other question is about the bottom molding of the windshield , where and how are positionned those clips ???

my car has been repaired at this area so i cant see how it was originally made

help please

Got any pics of your clips?   i know that 64-67 a-body cars used different clips and mix/matched them all the time depending on the build date.  I am amost 100 percent certain that you can use all of them in all locations,  they have the same backspace, and you can snap them onto the rivets or screw them down with screws,  either way,  they will work the same.

here  are some  pics  , i think  these clips  just  look  a little different , but  they  should  all work  the  same

i just have to  re drill some holes  on the bottom  and  on 1 side pillar because  they  where fixed in these areas
