OK I've switched to a more serene avatar....

The car looks pretty complete for trim actually. I don't think there is too much I could help you with other than maybe the seats but the ones I have are about as rough though even though they are the right colour.

Looks like a fair bit of endemic Ontario rust though as evidenced by the gauges and sort of everywhere. You have your work cut out for you.

I'm pretty sure I have a couple of sets of gauges and a dash that is less rusty looking as well.

After a second look your actual dash doesn't look too bad at all really. The pad looks intact and the chrome doesn't seem to be pitted.

Hi guys. I am a new member. I was referred to this site by some people while looking for parts to restore my 66 Parisienne ragtop. - quick background: my dad bought the car out west He died in a semi truck accident a short time later. I ended up with the car but too young to do anything wirh it. After turning down a stream of people knocking on the door to buy the car in the driveway, I put it on the road at 16. while on the farm, a goat jumped onto the trunk and as i watched in horror through the window, jumped onto the roof and fell throught the convetrible top! It was only after this that I realized how truly rare and valuable this car was... NOBODY had parts for it, and American companoes had little if any knowledge about it. I have found some of the interior stuff I need a NOS Reproductions (great people to deal with) but i still need correct interior badging and exterior badging as well as help to decode the trim tag which reads as follows: style 76467 1-11-9 body no. 713018 paint C trim 565 T-10 From what I've learned from your forums I believe this means a Parisienne convertible (76467) made first shift on Nov. 9 (1-11-9) believe in Oshawa but not positive.. Paimt looks original so paint code "C" must mean white? no idea what the 565 trim code means. T-10 I believe means white top? Thanks guys. I have read alot of neat stuff from very knowledgable people on here. any info / advice will be GREATLY appreciated.

Welcome here Chad. You've done a good job decoding the tag. I'll run and check the trim code. It will say colour as well as bench or bucket seat.

It says 565 is fawn bench seat? Is that correct? That would be VERY cool, so different. They are so often black, blue or white.

thanks Carl. the front seat is a split bench (not sure if original) and the rear seat was out of an impala. both are in desperate need of repair. Dale at NOS has helped me find the upholatery. it is a column shift auto so I'm thinking bench is correct due to no console.. not sure what colour it should be.

What colour are the door panels, carpet and sun visors?

Could be fawn.. the dash is black as is carpeting. Rear seat was blue from an impala and front bench is too far gone to tell. But the door panels are a light brownish colour

Makes sense then. The book says Fawn with a bench seat. Very unique, do your best to make it original like that if you can get the correct interior stuff for it.

And even though it's a project car, I know we'd all love to see pictures.

I'm sorry your dad isn't around to see you working on this. That would have been great.

Thanks Carl. I know he would have loved to see it in its first show. He never had a chance to restore it but when it is done, my son and I will be showing and cruising as much as possible! Ill try to get some pics up

Hey welcome to the friendliest site on the web (except for Carl s, he's a real nag lately, heh heh) If your looking for interior trim stuff and no one else has any my dad's old 66 four door parisienne had a light brown interior (I think thats called fawn) thats not in too bad shape. There may be some bits and pieces that would be good for you, although certainly not door panels or seats unfortunately. I also have a 66 parisienne hard top that was fawn inside and it stiill has the front split bench and back seats (although I think convertible rears seats are different than hardtop (not sure) They will need recovering though for sure.

If you want I can take some pics.

Well Chad, now you've met our resident grouch (just kidding, just kidding), and yes, that IS him in the picture.

I forgot to ask, there is on mention of engine or transmission on the cowl tag. Can we assume it's a 283 powerglide?

thanks ken. that would be great.. i believe the conv rear seats are different but if you have any door badging and the fron bench i wojld be interested.. k can get new coverings from NOS but need a seat frame in good shape. also the chrome bars behind the front wheel are in rough ahape if you know where any are.. email me at country_boy81@hotmail.com thanks again

I was thinking the gauges are like that because the goat punctured the top?

Most 66's would have good gauges if the glass (and top) are intact.

If Ken doesn't have good spare gauges, I know where I can pick some up this spring. There's a wrecking yard in North Dakota, 3 hours from me, that likely has at least 1/2 dozen sets of good gauges.

It does have a 283.. not sure of originality but fits the standard V8 options.. I have not really started yet because i thought about going black on black but wanted to get more info before doing anything. I did get some quotes and info and now that Ive talked to you guys Im thinking if fawn is rare maybe i should keep it.. im not a fan of white paint but if its original it may be worth keeping..

Hopefully others will chime in but I don't ever recall seeing a white/fawn 66 convert before.

I'm not a fan of white either and somehow I ended up with 3 white cars right now...

I kind of hate to say this but as a kid who rode a lot in a fawn interior 66 Four door that colour just doesn't do it for me ( I kind of relate to to car sickness to tell the truth) Either does white. Even if the car is rare, with the options it seems to have and the market for Canadian Pontiacs it will never be worth a huge pile of money as an original. So maybe pick what colout you really like and go for it!

The condition of the body and the frame will be critical though so i hope you have a solid car in those respects. Being a convert it quite likely the floor will be gone so I also hope thats ok once you are able to get a good look at it.
