If they say a Beaumont isn't a Pontiac why then ????
Permalink Closed

Not to bring back old topics but this one is really starting to bother me, I have heard all the pros and cons and the do's and don'ts but this seems to coincidental that the Beaumont and the full size Pontiac 2+2 have the same looking emblem ? I know this is going to stir up some bad vibes but this just seems too coincidental !!!! If is not a Pontiac why did they copy the Pontiac emblems, use the GTO dash and use a front grille  that screams Pontiac, and only sold at Pontiac dealers to boot !!!

Just my 2 cents

Kevin

We all know their Pontiacs, they just didn't want to put their name on them in case it was a flop. I remember reading that GM wanted Pontiac to include them in their lineup but they said no. smile

I look at it this way, Its like when you find out your Grandmother's youngest child (your young cool Aunt)  is really your eldest Aunt's child (really your oldest cousin)  we're all related but just not the way we thought wink

        Kevin;

       GM Canada used their resourses, to build a different brand, to satisfy the needs of the Canadian Pontiac dealers..

       (of course they used the Chevrolet componets, and some Pontiac parts, to do it..)

       For a lot of reasons, they did not promote them as Pontiacs  (maybe to keep American Pontiac happy....

       Since Cdn Poncho was born, we discovered that the Acadian and Beaumonts were "licenced" as a separate brand...

       Over the years, with the advent of computers, and the internet,  they have "morphed" into Pontiac..

       Not by original design, just by use...

       This is my version, and I have experience with these vehicles being "licenced" (Cdn) and "Titled" (U.S.) as Pontiac....  50 years later, its no big deal....

well in my opinion they would not call them Pontiacs because they had a lot of resemblance with the chevy s

novas had the exact same body as the acadian

same story for the Beaumont

there is a unknown story behind this i dont ^personnaly know about

but that makes a Beaumont or Acadian a rarer car , that was built in smaller numbers than the candian an american chevs
