1970 Pontiac Parisienne Convertible

Hello, Just wondering if anyone on the site would be interested in our car for sale, it has not been offered for sale ever but my Father has decided to sell his car, it is a 1970 Pontiac Parisienne Convertible, it is all orginal and has 10851 Miles, this car has a 350 all numbers matching, it is a true survivor car, it still has the new car smell! This vehicle has new tires but he did keep the old ones for good measure. Asking $ 27,000 OBO Thanks, I can be reached at 204-792-0016 or kbell@belltrailers.com

Normally we require you to have 10 posts in other forums before you can post cars for sale however we'll make an exception due to the fact that this is a survivor.
I'm sure there is more than one '70 Pontiac fan drooling over this one!

Thank you, I wasn't sure I am new to your site. It is great! Sad to sell the car I remember driving it when I was 16, looking back I can't believe my dad let me drive it? It is perfect, hopefully someone out there can enjoy it also.

Regards

Kevin

Man, if you really wanted a seriously clean 70 Paris rag. This might just be the ticket.

With all due respect Kevin, 27k is likely far too optimistic. Probably sticking my neck out for some flamage here, but I'll say in this market...no more than 14k moves it.

Why not just keep it?

I agree.... one day after you sell it you're going to ask the question...'why the heck did I sell Dad's old 70 rag?.

If you want to move it quickly, IMHO 27K is a little steep in today's market.

Yes I agree as well, at $14k I would have an interest, but an offer at half of asking price, would probability not sit well with seller.

I'm gonna chime in.  While I'm sure it's a very nice car, I'm not sure the the market will bear any more than about $10K.  This is from a guy with 4 similar cars and knows these cars very well.   If it's a 4 bbl 350 that's a plus, but I'd guess it's a 2 bbl.  Also looks to be power drum brakes, and looks like it has the mid year change to a throttle cable instead of linkage.   It's a red droptop which is always a plus.

only the market can tell us what its worth - if it truly is a 10,000 original mile survivor and wears its original paint ? its one rare oppourtunity-yes not the most desirable car on the planet but it is a classic ragtop--that said if I ever appraised for a customer a car of this supposed condition at the prices quoted I'd get chased off the property with a gun ! notice the power windows

This is truly a buyer's market.

I may be wrong but I think the market peeked in about 2007.

Not to say it wont peek again but for right now but I think your best money is in not selling it now.

I see you are a bit too far away but that girl could be loaned to the Oshawa Museum as a perfect example of what was built there at the GM Plant in 1970.

Maybe they could replace the 81 K-car (sorry Mopars)

I'd agree with "NOT SELLING" it!!! I had the chance to get my dad's 70 Olds Dynamic 88 2 dr. htp [455] when he passed away, but i said I didn't want it & sold it for my Mom & gave her the $$$$ 6 mths later I thought" what a idiot" that was a nice cool car!!!! The market is just about "DEAD" here in Ont. anything over the $10grand mark seems to be the cut off for selling or sitting!!! Also some of these appraisell's I see,[ old auto's cars for sale etc.] seem to be way over value & of course this leads the owners to "UP" the price on trying to sell!! Friend of mine has a mid 80's Olds 442 with just 25,000 K's car is extremely good cond. never seen snow, from a 80yr old org. owner but he knows he'll never get "BIG' $$$ for it, so he's driving it & havin fun!!!!

Well,

I agree it is a really nice looking car..and is roughly in similar condition to my 67 2+2. So knowing what I paid and what I put into it to get it where it is..I'd say this is worth more than $10K..but agree $27K is pushing it. I'm thinking with a new top on it one should be able to get $15-16K out of it....assuming there is someone looking for this particular car...which is the real question..with the glut of classic cars on the market right now..no one can really say if it will even sell...

But best of luck...

HELLO AGAIN, well the latest update is that my dad's car is still for sale and he has brought it out into the sun light and cleaned it up and is motivated to sell it! He is asking $ 23,000.00 which he thinks reflects a great value for his time capsule.

Hopefully someone out there wants to care for this car going forward and enjoy it as much as my father has!

I Forget the rules again for posting but here are the updated pictures from last week!

Thanks

I did forget to mention this is a orginal paint , orginal power top, orginal interior ! Power windows, 350 - 300hp, 4 barrel carb, Auto on the tree. The best part is 10,800 orginal miles.

It cleaned up nice, the orginal paint is mint, the dust is gone and shine is back! Car is located in Saskatoon.

Cheers,

Kevin

That's a beauty!

Good luck with the sale.  I'm sure there are lots out there who would be happy to have that in their garage!

A question for the seller, do you have documentation to back the mileage? Such as dealer service receipts, details like the original spark plugs, wires, points, maybe even battery?

When you are selling a car with that low of mileage, factory originality has to be genuine. Do you have the window sticker, dealer invoice, manuals, literature or GM historical Services records?
It would be a good idea to have an expert go over and photo document all the important things. I don't mean a local appraiser, but a true GM experienced person. The axle tags, brake linings, etc. should all be the factory installed as well as hoses, clamps, bulbs and glass.

I'm not trying to be picky, but if you are asking that kind of money the true buyer is going to expect this and more.
