Tried to recreate 67 sales brochure photo

Something I've wanted to do for a long time I finally got down to it. The 67 brochure of the full-size Canadian Pontiac line-up features some drawings in front of the Expo 67 site in Montreal. Of course, the angle taken is in a pedestrian area, so this is what I came up with. I had to go very early Sunday morning to get the right sun angle that I wanted.2013.08.11.0947.JPG

The next thing is to drive to the desert and recreate part of Red Hot Chilly Pepper's "Scar Tissue" - without the scars of course ... and with a presentable car!2013.08.11.0956.JPG2013.08.11.0948.JPG2013.08.11.0946.JPG

Here's another photo closer to '67 with my dad's Parisienne.

ParisienneJanuary1977.JPG

Sorry about the quality, it was from a 126. The patches on the ragtop ... there were 17 of them ... + duct tape at the top of the windshield! And we complain if our heated seats don't warm up quickly enough!!!

Great idea ... nice pictures.

I've been through the Biosphere hundreds of times as a kid (my aunt babysat me, and she had season's passes to Expo '67 ... I couldn't get enough of looking at the Apollo capsule that was on display inside the Biosphere!

 That is a cool picture, like your comment on heated seats, we've gone soft in the past 46 years haven't we, great pictures of the recreation.

I have a question, how far are you from ST-David??

Gerry,

If you mean St David between Sorel and Drummondville, about 125 kms away.

Here's another from the Spring of 1977. The red 2-door Bel-Air in the back was the first car I ever drove. Also a Canadian model;

the U.S. version only came in 4-door.

And another from 2013... Anybody seen the original from a 67 GM ad? I tried to recreate but not exactly the same lighting nor angle...

Anybody wanna guess what year this was taken?

 Nice guess ... but it was June 2013! All those cars in the parking lot are waiting to be restored and will eventually go up for sale.
