1964 Oshawa Impala Wagon Restoration - RHD Export to Australia

It was a treat to revisit this thread. I'm hoping you'll start that 4 door sport sedan sooner than later and you document the restoration on here. Great entertainment!

Simon, if you are still checking in here at C.P., i was just wondering about any up dates on your 64 Impala four door hardtop. Cheers.

Hi Long Stroke

No updates on the 4 door hardtop. The wagon is still going strong but the hardtop has remained on-hold due to the past 3 or so years taking a rather interesting and unexpected turn....which was to accidentally start up a successful bicycle painting business!

Through the power of social media I went from painting 1 bike for a friend using the leftover paint from the wagon restoration, to running a busy, lucrative painting business with an employee and a 6 month waiting list.  I built a small booth and painted bikes for local bicycle builders, cashed-up collectors, local and national race teams, National Champions and even painted 2 bikes for Tour De-France Winner Sir Bradley Wiggins.  I have just recently shut the business down as I wasn't able to keep up with the demand and the relentless pressure of customer expectation.

Pics of my work are here:

At the moment I am putting the finishing touches on a new workshop before I tackle the hardtop....finally!  Rest assured I will be back here to share that journey with you all.

Thanks for the comment!
