Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner

Unknown origin. I've posted on here a couple of times trying to figure this thing out but still no idea where it originally called home.

Appears to be a Quadrajet base, red paint is certainly an afterthought.

$50 plus shipping?

That looks like a 1974 Z28 with HEI to me as it has the larger HEI cutout. Normally black with a chrome lid.

Great air cleaner for a Q-jet with HEI!!

Thanks

Randy

Do both snorkels go straight out, or are they a bit tilted?   I think it's more late 70's, mainly by looking at the blue temp/vacuum sensor.  60's & early 70's used a different style sensor.

One is tilted more than the other, to clear something I assume.

I got thinking about this.   While there are no ThermAC's on the snorkels to bring in hot air from the exhaust manifold heat stoves until the engine warms up, the late 70's style blue vacuum control heat sensor to run the ThermAC's is there.   Doesn't make sense, unless that sensor is used for something else.
