I bought a 2000 Z28 from a member this year..   The car I traded, had a killer Bose original equip am/fm/cd with 8 speakers and was awesome (to me)  

The Camaro had a Mickey Mouse (to me ) Eclipse aftermarket in it   Sounded terrible (to me)   and the aftermarket "deleted" the steering wheel controls!!  

I went on E-bay and found a 98-02 Monsoon original am/fm/cd which has a amplifer in it  

Barb picked it up in Port Huron today    Installed it tonight   Steering wheel controls work !!  and the sound is awesome  just like in Corvette  

why oh why would anyone yank out a oe radio and put in a junker???

My 2006 GMC truck had an GM OE FM/CD + 4 speakers ... it sounded like rice crispies (crap)! Unless you are going higher end OE (Bose), OE stereos aren't that good.

I got a aftermarket Kenwood unit with all the ports/CD/Bluetooth etc. + 4 Infinity speakers installed ... all without altering/mangling anything in the truck. It looks like it belongs there and it kicks butt! The truck doesn't have AC, PW, power door locks or anything ... but it does have a killer stereo.
