From what I've been told from some knowledgeable people is that the frames left the frame factory with the 3-4 speed/ power glide cross member mounts, if the car was to receive a m40 trans then the mounts for it were welded on when it was going down the line. They would have no idea at the frame plant what combos the frame was getting.

Yes - just shows how stupid I was then - but how cow was that car ever rotten!   I cut the rear cowl at the top edge and literally pulled the quarters off by hand.

I agree with that 100%. I have never seen an exception to that rule, and I've parted out a couple of TH400 cars of those model years wink

No real plans yet  Steve - except to try and save it.

Maybe get it registered - I hear there are only three 427 powered CDN-Ponchos registered.   The letter I got with the car from George Zappora says there were 17 built.  I recall you selling a set of 427 emblems off a 68 CDN Poncho - did you have one?

 no, that was a 69 2+2 convert 427/th400 ,pw,pdb, red on black ,white top.......... i still have the engine in my 32 ford roadster
