Cool vid. Brings back lots of memories, although I also was not there for the 50's, my father was and ran his service stations much like that even into the late 70's. Back when it was a SERVICE station, not just a gas station. Back when you didn't have to ask to have your windows washed, oil checked, air pressure, coolant etc. They asked you if you wanted it checked and did windows no matter what. I remember the big ol jug with the long spout for filling rads, the cool little jug with the spring loaded spout for filling batteries, from before maintenance free batteries. And oil cans, and as a 9 or 10 year old fighting with the spout for them. Yep a better time indeed.

I remember the little balls in the glass globe that would flutter around when the gas was flowing. I would think it must have been hazardous work for the attendants to be popping off the caps of hot radiators...
