Here's my factory trim tag monstrosity:

Kevin, you did right by keeping it tidy. Some of the factory firewall markings could be from one hungover assembly line worker to another that it is time for a smoke break. You never know... I have seen quite a few with C2 written in grease pencil.

And the guy writing the "Rx" on the firewall did it sideways, right side up, whatever. Only way I haven't seen it written is totally upside down!

Kevin, on the firewall I noticed you are running the washer lines together on the driver's side, which is how the 1964/65 style was routed. 1966/67 were run separate, as shown below on a '66 Beaumont. The metal nozzles actually pierce & run through the weatherstrip on the firewall top.

yep, good eye, since we are using the 65 motor i prefer the way the 65s hoses run. there will be lots of little things i will have to do when the experts put their eyes on it

What a car is right. And what a project. I havent been in here for very long but looking back through the timeline on this thread it goes to show that patience pays off in the end. Beautiful job and beautiful car. Slightly jealous is an understatement

CdnGMfan,

I must have missed something.  I've seen lots of GM of Canada cowl tags.  In all sorts of conditions.  The picture you posted of your cowl tag isn't that bad.  I've seen a lot worse.  Your cowl tag maybe a bit more oxidized then some.  But its still pretty easy to read.  Nice 6 cylinder coupe.  Solid Cypress Green with the Black cloth ad vinyl bench seat.  Love to see more pictures of this Canadian Malibu coupe.

Dave, more pictures and a story here: Todd Wanted To See...

It's too bad we didn't meet when you visited Ontario in your '72 Chevelle all the way from B.C. a bunch of years back.

First pics in this thread show the starting point. You are an optimist who has brought one back from the dead.
