1967 Beaumont SD Cheetah for sale Kijiji Vancouver

http://vancouver.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-classic-cars-1967-Pontiac-Beaumont-SD-Cheetah-W0QQAdIdZ548745406

This does not look like a Cheetah to me, but I may be wrong. It is for sure missing the Cheetah badgering if it is.

Very interesting to say the least? What a different cheetah emblem , has to be off euro car or something. Like all the talk we have seen on here guys , talbot mirrors , drilled holes for the real cheetah emblems in the fenders etc. Also the docs that show it was a Conroy motors car etc. Maybe the seller is going by the emblem that was on the car when he got it? It does have a 14 bolt diff too ;) I wouldn't mind seeing this car just cause

I would put the 428 Pontiac engine in it since it's a Pontiac.

A U.S. Cheetah. A car like the AC Cobra, to go up against the AC Cobra. It didn't do as well as expected. The drive train was GM. It later became a kit car like the AC did.

CONROY PONTIAC BUICK, West Vancouver, BC/ Closed.

Conroy Pontiac Buick was located at 680 Marine Drive on leased land in West Vancouver, BC. Conroy was known by the slogan "white glove service", but better known as the source of the rare "Cheetahs". Similar to the COPO and Yenko conversions, the Cheetahs were Canadian Pontiacs with dealer performance upgrades. The majority of them were true musclecars. The Cheetah was a Pontiac Beaumont (to read a history of the Beaumont nameplate, see the 1967 Beaumont story in GAS LOGS on this site in the TRAVEL STORIES section).

The 1966 to 1968 Cheetahs had a plaque on the rear roof pillar "Cheetah by Conroy LTD". Two were 283 cars, but most were 396 cars, with a few supercars running a transplanted 427 engine and aftermarket performance equipment. According to the Canadian Ponchos website 46 were made in total, with 25 shipped out to the main office in St Catherines, Ontario. The remaining 21 were B.C. cars.

biggrinThe sarcasm is dripping ... I agree with you. Just a plain old over-priced Beaumont with no drivetrain in my eyes.

Can't say for sure, but the Cheetah emblem on the car seems to resemble that of the Arctic Cat Cheetah of the early 70's

Maybe an earlier version of the Arctic Cat Cheetah? Or did the Conroy Beaumont really have this emblem?

100% the Real McCoy , I have seen George's beautiful car many times and it is the real deal! I have never seen that Cheetah emblem on any of the Cheetahs built by Conroy. You are totally right they are off something else for sure.

Exactly, except that I heard that the owner had custom valve cover stickers made up, they were not original:

I'm pretty sure the valve covers were there originally and George had them reproduced , going by memory a few years back I remember George telling a guy at a show as I over heard them

The car for sale has way better looking Cheetah emblems than the Conroy version, always though those Conroy emblems were so Mickey Mouse with those little footprints and the way they stuck them on the car. Sorry.

This would be nice to see.

From  an old January 8, 2009 post in Canadian Poncho by Ron Haslam (Haz396) :

I still have an original emblem that is made into a belt buckle. The ones on the car are a remake from pictures of it.If I ever get finished moving and can figure how to send pictures on thi thing I will do that.

I got a feeling he bought the car thinking it really was a Cheetah

And now he realizes people are wise to his claim, but he's hoping someone will

think it is and give him $25,000....don't think it will happen.

Might have worked if he had the real reproduction badges.

Looks like he  knows the truth about the car...

From his ad:

Cheetah badges not a documented Cheetah

( for all the know it all's)

Okay, it's been 2 weeks since I posted this ad, I've had near 2000 hits I cannot deal with everyone interested in 'seeing' this car just for the fact of seeing it.. DO NOT WASTE MY TIME.

Viewing of the car will be a fee of 100.00 that's for my time, as each person spends at least an hour of it.

Email me, I am busy to answer all these calls.
You want this car say so, it's yours for the price I'm asking, don't bicker or try to offer trades.

It is what it is, if you are not agreeable to these terms... Don't buy it. >: \

LOL wow my email made him change his add I guess!! You can see that it was last updated today ! The last update was Dec.12 it said this AM. Wow sorry guess I spooked him.... well you know what this is the crap we don't need out in our hobby! Call the car what it is , I'm sure its a decent car but waaaayy over priced! Cant believe he would just change his add on my account though LOL smile

This is what I emailed the seller this morning with help from my CP family:

"Hi there been looking at your add and not sure if you realize or know what a real Cheetah is?? First off the Cheetah emblem that is pictured on your car is not from a Cheetah Beaumont. Cheetah's were bought by Conroy Motors in West Vancouver and were a dealer equipped performance car . If it was not Conroy Motors then this is 100% not a Cheetah. That emblem you have pictured is off a US Cheetah kind of like a AC cobra type of car. No Cheetah that was dealer built by Conroy motors came with power window either. Just thought I would let you know a few tips. I know someone who has a real documented 67 Cheetah and he has confirmed this as well. I can appreciate the hassles you are getting over this car which can be annoying however you should look into further where this car was ordered from dealer wise. Just cause it has a emblem that says "Cheetah" does not make this an actual "Cheetah" Beaumont. Good luck with the sale of your Beaumont. Kevin"

Just not sure why he list it as one as well then?? For all the know it all's? He might truly not know much about the car at all is what I imagine.
