I doubt the Tin Man would want to sell me parts as cheap as I like to pay. I have a really low tolerance for parting with my cash since I retired.   :)

I will keep him in mind. Thanks for the tip.

Actually, it's not so much a matter of being a cheapskate, as a self preservation technique. I've had an unbelievable number of cars over the years, and I grew tired of putting 10 grand in and getting back 5. Now, I don't put 5 grand in unless it's going to at least break even. The hobby has to support itself. If a car won't support itself, I just fix up something else. I know where there are two 62 2 door hardtops rotting in the grass right now. I just talked to someone last week who said their friend has a 62 Parisienne 2 door hardtop he doesn't want, sitting beside his garage. I talked to a lady last month and she showed me her 63 Olds Dynamic convert that's going to go cheap. Decent front and rear seats that would probably fit.

The secret is.....patience !!

Besides, I can always sell it to someone else. I've had numerous 65 and 66 Parisiennes and kind of got a soft spot for them. Actually, a 65 Custom Sport 396 or 427 would just about knock me right out of my space boots !!

and if I was trying to have the Hobby support itself I was dreaming   funny eh

I can put you second on the list for a 66 Grande Parisienne 396 4 speed that's going up for sale in the spring, if the first one on the list doesn't buy it before then. I told him to talk to me in the spring.

It wouldn't hurt to let me know. Many factors to consider, though. Proximity to lower mainland Vancouver BC, price and condition of car, whether I've sold my 65 442 or not.

I'm quite certain my wife would freek if I spent a big whack of dough on another car without first liquidating the Olds.

You surely have a very rare car. I've never seen one. All the big block cars I've seen in a mid-sixties Parisienne have been automatic. I bet it's got beautiful lines. Hmmm....it gets a man thinking, dosn't it?

Interesting turn of events. I just got off the phone with someone I meet periodically from an Oldsmobile forum. We were talking "Olds" when I mentioned the 62 Parisienne. He tells me in 62 he was working in a car dealership moving the Parisiennes and others around. To this day he has a soft spot for the 62s and their beautiful upholstery. He's going to come by at month's end to look at this and rekindle some memories. I told him the upholstery is lacking, but he wants to look none the less. That's part of the fun of these old cars. A 62 Parisienne in burgundy is quite a sight, even undriveable. Really shows off the chrome trim. Might even put the tail lights back on before he sees it !!
