FS: 67 Parisienne 2+2


Hi, I am posting this for a friend.  It is located in Calgary, AB.  I am not able to answer any questions on it, but he said anyone interested can email him at frkorek@telus.net  Here is the following information and pictures that he gave me:

The car is  a 1967 Pontiac Perisienne 2+2
The colour is Turquoise Green
121K miles
Runs good
Has some rust; upholstery and weather stripping needs to be re-done  ( has been mostly stored outside )
I am the original owner
396 cu in motor - 325 HP
4 Barrel carb
Fender Skirts
Asking Price $3K ( Will consider offers )

If that's the same car that was at the Father's Day show a few yrs back it was parked next to me and I took a picture of the engine bay re:the power steering hose(s) clamp that I was missing. The owner told me that the engine had never been out of the engine bay.It looked like it!!!. For $3k someone should buy that car and save it. Looks like a real decent project IMO...........

I say it's a good price and decent project if you guys have the time/knowledge. He is a good guy and original owner, and a straight shooter. Just can't keep it paying for 4 cars/insurance at that age,.

 Yeah, I figured when I wrote that.  Just thought you might have had a little more info and figured it doesn't hurt to ask.

I would really like the car in its finished state, but realistically a full restoration is not in the cards for me.  Though it would be a cool car to drive if it was in a state that it could be driven and upgraded gradually.

A resto like that will never be in my cards since I have a nice 69 custom s convertible with a few issues that will take me all winter to resolve so that woukd take me a lifetime.

Same boat that I'm in.  Considered it for a second or two - thought if I knew a bit more about it, I might be able to decide a little easier whether I would want to take this on or not. 

The more I think about it, I really should stick to my decision of finding something that is original (i.e. "survivor"), finished, or almost finished (but driveable) as I don't have a decent place to work on a large project nor do I have lot of spare time these days due to family and work commitments. I would be better off spending the little spare time I have driving and tinkering rather than being mired in a big project that might take 10 years (for me, but perhaps months for somebody better equipped) to see the light of day.  Therefore don't want to waste the seller's time - still curious though.

I emailed Frank with a few questions just to see whether there might be a chance that I could make it work.  After some consideration I figured that I'm going to keep looking, but asked Frank if it would be OK to post the answers to my questions on the forum in case somebody else might want to take it on as a project, to which he agreed.  So here they are - I'll post my question first and then his answer:

(1) Is the car drivable and safe in its current form?
(2) If not, what would need to be done to it to make it drivable, reliable and safe?

(1) The car is drivable.  I have it insured and licensed. Periodically I drive it around town. Have not had it on the highway for quite some time. 

 

(3) What is the rust condition of the following parts?
- Outer body panels... quarter panels, rocker panels, fenders, trunk lid, roof, etc.
- Trunk floor
- Under floor/passenger compartment
- Frame
- Suspension

(3) To be honest there is quite a bit of rust. It is the worst on the lower panels.  Most of it has come from the salt on the roads during the winter. The trunk floor has a rust hole on the smaller side.  I lay a piece of plywood on it for support so that I can load it with grocery items, etc. Nothing like that has shown up on the back or front seat floor. I think the frame and suspension are ok.

 

(4) What transmission does your car have?

(4) The transmission, I think is a Turbo 400 - Drive 1, 2, and 3.

 

(5) What is the condition of the interior?

(5)The upholstery and weather stripping needs to be redone.

 

(6) How is the chrome?

(6) The chrome is really pretty good.

 

(7) Anything else you would like to add would be appreciated.

(7) The front windshield  has a crack. Tires are so so. The muffler is close to needing replacement.

 

To me, it sounds like a great project to take on for somebody who loves these big fastbacks and has a shop to work on it (which I don't at the moment).  It needs just a little more work than I'm in the position to take on right now, plus I'd have to add a couple of grand on the price for shipping, which I wouldn't mind doing on a car that needed less work.

I hope this helps somebody find a great project that would be a beautiful car when finished!  Good luck to all!

The car has a new owner, was pleased to get her. Seller was awesome, great guy.

Have all documentation on car from new, car was bought with 3000 miles on it, was a 

 ordered new as a GM zone car. Sold as a demo to Mr Korek in 1967.

Got some cool stories on the car, history if you will. A great guy with a good heart, was

a major part in my decision to purchase. True gentleman.

Thanks for offer on the wheels Dennis, but I have a set of red walls on pontiac rally

wheels that are going on her.
