I rather like this model even if the hood scoops are too pronounced. With a 318 auto it should be a good driver with a bit of pep while not being too thirsty.

Hey, how much can it be, he's willing to trade for a backhoe ... But "cash is king"

There are a lot of people who are really into this style Mopar. They're light and can be p.d.q. with the right power train (often a 340, sometimes a 360, I've seen a few with 383's and even 440's. I've also seen them with that bullet-proof 225 slant six but they wouldn't win many races).

Ken,

I totally agree with you..if it had the 340..maybe $15K. However as I suspect the owner/flipper will also be looking to recoup his shipping and safety costs.. expect his asking is around the $15-16K mark...

 I agree with Carl.

To put it in perspective, it is a Scamp, which was Chrysler's tradeoff to Plymouth after giving Dodge the Demon in 1971.  Without going into a long boring historical explanation, in 1970 the Duster was exclusive to Plymouth, added to the Valiant line as their "sporty" bodystyle (Valiant hadn't had a 2-door hardtop since 1966).  In 1971 Dodge was given the Demon, based off the Duster, so to balance things out, Plymouth got the Scamp, based off the Dart 2-door hardtop body.

What would tend to hurt the value of this particular car to collectors is that the Scamp never had a performance ("340") version with scoops and stripes, etc., it was always a bread and butter but fancier version of the Valiant, with the highest performance engine available being the 318 2bbl, with single exhaust.

So, what we have here is a "clone" of a vehicle that never existed - an attempt to make it look like a performance version that was never offered, but without the actual performance parts to make it go like its looks.

Looks like a nice clean southern vehicle that would be a fun driver, but it's still a 318 Valiant Scamp which means it will never get the collector prices that a 1970 Dart 340, Demon 340, or Duster 340 would get.
