The king of wordy ads

There's lots of good information in this ad, I'm sure of it, but what a bear to read through it all.  My apologies to the all-caps guys, that is nothing compared to this...

Up for sale is my 1968 Dodge Charger R/T. It is a true R/T as indicated by the XS VIN #. The R/T designation indicated that this car was factory equipped with either a 426 Hemi or a 440 Magnum engine when originally purchased in 1968. Today this car is equipped with a Chrysler 440 cubic inch displacement engine which runs very strong and is very reliable, starts up every time, the first time. This Charger is extremely good looking, sleek and very powerful and drives smooth and straight. I have driven this car as a daily driver and have driven it from Halifax Nova Scotia to West Palm Beach Florida and back again, twice. This Dodge Charger has had many upgrades to the steering, suspension, electrics, heater/air conditioner and interior. I have modified this car by restoring it with better than new parts. Original MOPAR parts and parts purchased from YEAR ONE are used where ever possible. Parts such as a power-steering cooler, transmission cooler & rear sway bar to eliminate body roll on tight turns were not originally found on this vehicle in 1968 but these are the type of parts that would be considered an improvement to the original production car of 1968 so I have installed these and many other such improvements to this car; such as a rebuilt Phase Two FIRM FEEL steering gear box and fast-ratio pitman arm, new idler arm and associated clips, bolts and rubber. Other improvements are listed below. The transmission is an original 747 Torque-flite Bullit-Proof 3 speed automatic with a built-in Slapstick Shifter so that you can shift from 2nd to 3rd gear without having to push any buttons or step on a clutch pedal. The transmission was completely rebuilt by AAMCO Transmissions in Orlando Florida and it shifts smooth and perfect. I purchased this Charger in 2003 from a man in Tennessee, USA. The car was built in the Hamtranck assembly plant in Michigan. The engine is not the one that the car was born with but it is an original Chrysler 440 engine that has been rebuilt. The old electrical system and voltage regulator have been replaced with a new transistorized Chrysler voltage regulator which is modern and reliable. It has a MOPAR electronic ignition and a new high-torque mini-starter motor for quick reliable start up, every time. You barely need to turn the key, it is awesome. Also new dashboard wiring harness is installed, forward lighting harness, engine wiring harness and rear wiring harness. There is NO old wiring in this Dodge. Equipped with Headman ELITE ceramic-coated headers to a new dual exhaust system in an H pipe configuration with dual Flowmaster mufflers so this Charger sounds like a muscle car should with MYLAR wrapped around mufflers for a low tone and heat shielding. Chrome tail pipe tips are correct for 1968 and they are also new. Has new MOPAR coil and custom plug wires, new POWERMASTER chrome alternator with 50 amp diodes. A voltmeter gauge is under the dash. This Dodge Charger will never overheat. A new Be Cool Aluminum Radiator is installed and keeps the engine at its optimal operating temperature of 198 degrees F*. The cooling system includes two high flow electric puller fans to get the heat out of the engine compartment which is VERY clean, all hoses are protected by thermal wrap, the good stuff. The original fender tag is under the hood on inner front fender. New thermostat. New hood- to-radiator seal. Hood spring, latch and hinges all clean and secure. Front Power-Disc Brake assemblies are from a 1973 Dodge Charger and have ceramic brake pads, rear drum brakes. The car stops very easily when the power brakes are applied. Old production, stamped-steel control arms have been replaced with FIRM FEEL STEERING tubular steel upper and lower control arms, new rubber bump-stops. 11/16 tie rod kit installed. Very beefy. New Front & Rear sway bars (thicker& more effective than original) with new rubber kit. All steering & suspension parts on this car can be seen by going to www.firmfeel.com. Just click on B-body and every part you see on that website has been installed on this car including adjustable strut rods for easy and accurate wheel alignment. All rubber parts have been replaced with new rubber kits. New high performance MOPAR leaf springs and thicker (.960) torsion bars with new dust boots installed. Skid plate has been added to K member. New tranny and oil pans. 4 new KYB shocks. This Charger R/T has new Classic Auto Air conditioning and heating unit. Heater & defroster works great. All new condenser, compresser, ducts, hoses, drier, cables and servo devices with new powerful blower motor and heater core ($1,155), and it all looks original with shiny new AC vents inside. The interior of this car is clean and nearly perfect, with the only exception being a rip in the drivers seat cover. New carpet with under layer and insulation. Original black steering wheel with horn rim & new directional indicator switch assembly installed. Dome Light works, new headliner installed correctly. New front and rear windshield gaskets AND brass screws & clips installed. No leaks in this Charger which can drive through the worst of rainstorms with no leaks. Even the window fuzzies on all 4 windows are new as are the inner door pads, original upper door pads look excellent for their age with no rips or bubbling at all. Front windshield is new; all other glass is the original, factory tinted glass which only came on cars produced with air conditioning back in 68, theyre all clean and scratch free. All of the factory glass has a built-in tint which is slightly green in color, a big upgrade from clear windows that other cars came with back then, the factory tint really does keep the glare down & the suns heat & u.v. rays out of the cabin. Corner vent windows open and close as they should and lock. All interior trim is there and unbroken. New rear tray package, which holds two INFINITY speakers in rear and two smaller speakers up front for a great sound system, that doesnt look too flashy. A New Pioneer C.D. Player & radio with remote control, PLUS the original AM radio in the dashboard which works through a nice sounding speaker in the upper-dash, which is how it was when new. The speaker is new. Dash Pad has no cracks and is soft and new. Dash Bezel is original 68 and has no flaws. All plastic chrome on rocker switches is like new. Center console opens and closes as it should. Glove compartment works as it should with new inner liner and fire extinguisher. New front & rear floor pans, new trunk pan. Front & rear bumpers are almost like new with only a slight patina as are both side view mirrors. It`s an eye-full. This 1968 Dodge Charger R/T has really been rebuilt with reliability in mind. New MOPAR fuel tank with new sending unit and Stainless Steel fuel lines from rear to front will last forever. New fuel vapor separator unit, chrome fuel filter. ORIGINAL LOCKING GAS CAP with two keys under the original flip top gas cap so nobody can steal your gas or drop anything in there. New Edelbrock carberator (750 I think), with automatic choke, new Edelbrock intake manifold. Mopar Performance valve covers on original heads with matching air cleaner. Newer power steering unit. New throttle cable and kickdown linkage assembly correctly installed. Even has new frame mounted splash shields riveted underneath. New windshield washer kit with electric pump installed. New Old Stock wiper arms are like brand new. New rear and front axil bearings installed. Restored e-brake pedal. Has nice trunk mat as original. This Charger has a 3:55 gear ratio (original was 3:23) This Charger R/T is equipped with POSI-TRACTION. 8 ¾ rear end. I recently installed 4 new door hinges and pins with bushings. The doors sit straight and true& close and open perfectly. New chrome door handles with new locks that match the ignition key. Both quarters are original as are fenders, hood and all other exterior panels. This car is fast and furious but has tons of head turning style that was so awesome and beautiful in 1968, as it is today. Todays cars are a total joke compared to the way they were in the 60s & 70s. The styling lines and design on this Charger are from a time when consumers were in charge and got what they wanted. If you can turn a wrench then you can work on this car. You can actually change the oil yourself! Lots of room under the hood. No computer to go wrong here. The way this car is set up, you can fix it with a hammer. I`ve always owned a Dodge Charger since I was 16, this is my third. I am not a used car salesman, this vehicle wasnt purchased as a flip. There are a ton of original details on this car that most Chargers have lost or broken over the years. This is my personal car, I take great pride in it and all of the gremlins & bugs on all the work have been eliminated, just turn the key and drive anywhere. You won`t break down, over heat or get passed.
Now for the items which are not perfect. The rear end does have a whine, when powering between the speeds of 35 to 40 m.p.h. that sound goes away when you are driving below 35 and/ or above 40 mph. I know what it is and it will not get worse over the short term, you can put many thousands of miles on it, its a fairly easy fix or replacement of the pinion set-up and does NOT affect the cars drivability or performance. The original gauges do work but I have put after- market units under the dash because they are more accurate. The body work on the rear valance corner is not perfect but is barely noticeable, overall. There is a little rust above the rear wheel well and lower quarter panel. The paint on the roof has some minor crackeling in a small area on passenger side, its cosmetic and since this car is not a clear-coat paint job it can be repainted there and blended easily. Its enamel paint, strong. Over all the paint and body work are very good but not like a car with a 20 thousand dollar body and paint job. If you are a body-work person then youll be able to repair or restore it yourself. The original color of this Charger R/T in 68 was BRONZE metallic, now FireGlow Orange. This car comes with original American Racing, VECTOR wheel rims which are no longer in production, just like the ones on The General Lee. They are a rare find, complete with center caps and 15x7 inch BF Goodrich tires. You will probably want to put 6 tires on front though because the extra inch of tire width rubs on the front sway bar when you do a sharp parking maneuver, not a big deal. You see, in a normal Charger you have to turn the steering wheel 3&1/2 turns to go from lock to lock but with the fast ratio steering system in THIS Charger the steering wheel turn from lock to lock is only 2&1/4 turns. Pretty good. The speedometer doesnt work now but it only needs the small gear that screws into the end of the speedo cable to work again. The tachometer works but the clock in the tic-tock-tach doesnt tell the right time anymore but they still make replacement units for about $400. Dash bezel includes the Center Dash Medallion, which is a super- rare find, I once saw one on ebay for over $100. The FLIP-UP headlights have brand new actuators and brand new hoses but I need to put in the new dash headlight switch to work again, I have a new switch for you. The front grille is nearly perfect but does have a crack in one spot which is hard to see. The reverse lights need to be reconnected. The flip-up headlight doors can be opened easily by hand. The Four new headlights are bright. Flip-top gas cap needs a new gasket. A/C unit needs a charge. The car doesnt need much to be perfect. Thousands & thousands of dollars in quality replacement parts have been invested in this Charger over the years. It is not a vehicle in decline, I have receipts. Ive done the major work and made sure this car remains true to the original with all of the details, small interior parts that often are missing and pieces that just cannot be found anymore are all in this car. The cigarette lighter works. Everyone will enthusiastically love this car (except your wife) People will follow you and give you thumbs-up from the sidewalk, kids will point, girls will want to have their picture taken with it and folks will knock on your front door and ask, how much do you want for that car?!. When this car was made back in 1968, man had yet to walk on the moon, Bobby Kennedy was running for president , Martin Luther King was assonated too, The Beatles White Album was new, Woodstock was next year, The Vietnam war and the consumer market was going full steam ahead. This car represents the big auto makers peak in power, performance and design for the boom generation. It will never be like that again. When we are gone this Charger will still be here and people will want to own it. This is your chance to own this car now. Ive had a lot of fun in this Charger R/T but every dog has his day and I`ve driven and restored this fine automobile for over a decade, my loss is your gain. I want to see it go to someone who will enjoy & care for it. Now it`s your turn to drive. This Car is currently located in Truro, Nova Scotia. E-mail me OR call (902) 890-4536. Ask for Peter, Ill answer any questions that you might have about this Charger R/T. $39,000 is an incredibly good price for this rare and popular MOPAR collectors car, The 1968 Dodge Charger R/T.

It certainly could have drawn a lot more readers if it were spaced properly and shortened up using point form instead of long paragraphs.

I guess we all have talents in different areas but some people would have more success advertising if they would enlist the help of someone familiar with writing good ads.
