Wow! I can see why you say that you are "reluctantly" offering it for sale. You have been together for 44 years. I love the originality on that car. Purist's delight!

This is why the Maritimes are the country's best kept secret.  Everybody moves west for jobs to make big money in an overinflated economy... but all the smart ones move east.  wink

I thnk you meant second best! Manitoba's nice stable economy (not booming, but stable) and the fact that everyone thinks it's just awful living where we have winter makes it the best kept secret. I love the fact that few people actually want to move here!!!

If I had to leave here it would be Maritimes though, you are correct.

Is it true they plan on changing the name to Snosaldatimes?

Can't argue with you there, Carl, as I've never been to Manitoba (thereby proving your point!).... hmmm... maybe I'll have to hitch a ride with Johnnee when he visits!  biggrin

Have to admit I'm a little biased when it comes to the east coast! aww

After this winter (which is still happening, by the way), I have to think this would be a fitting change.

+6 and sunny for Friday!

My apologies to the OP for the derail of your for sale ad - I'm still buying lottery tickets!  smile

You'll have to come alone from the Manitoba border though, Johnnee isn't allowed in Manitoba.

It's a nice looking car in a seldom seen colour, at least here in the east.
Let's say you found a ratty one for $7500.
Could you restore it to measure up to this car for $32500?
A lot of forum members can do the basic labour, except maybe for the finishing and paint.
So how many hours, and how much is your time worth?
So far this is all just assumption because first you have to find a SD 396 with a 4 speed and matching #'s for $7500 that needs a resto.
This car is out of my price range sadly. As I'm one of the guys who beat these cars into the ground back in the 70's and let them rust away without a thought. Now I'm jealous of the guys who took care of them!

I agree with Earl. Well worth the money and that's a great colour as well!

Just in time for Spring too! If every member sends $20 I can build a decent garage to put it in!

Agreed, restoring that car for less would be a challenge to say the least!

The huge bonus on this car is the provenance of the same owner since 1970!
By 1975 most of them had at least a dozen owners. Rust & neglect plus the poor fuel mileage during the gas crisis took a lot of them to the crusher.
By 1976 my 68 convertible was on its last legs from rust. I had a "Mop 'n glow" quickie paint job done to it but that didn't last long.
So almost 40 years later it's hard to believe nice ones like this still exist.
